Lush Life

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on September 9, 2018 by Sara Hammerzmith

I’ve spent this weekend taking it relatively easy. I’ve been heading over to Misa’s and Glimon’s, accompanied by William for sort of a gaming weekend, merged together with an election watch.

It’s been a great weekend – a lot of laughter, a lot of randomness, a lot of politics and a lot of progress on Aria.

She’s finished the doctors career, finally, and have now officially started the detectives career. After she’s done with that, she’ll be doing the gardening challenge. So at this point I’d be better off trying to install yet another one of the expansions pack to discover. I’ve been around Seasons now and it’s nice. My next plans are to potentially move her to a different house.

Another nice thing is me recieving my order from Lush that I placed together with Misa.

These are the items I got, The Experimenter, Intergalactic, Sunnyside och MMMelting Marshmallow Moment. I’m really excited to try these products, while I do realize it won’t really happen until after tour.

The Sims Tuesday | Aria Progress

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized with tags , , , on January 24, 2017 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, since I last wrote about Aria a LOT has happened. She’s been promoted a couple of times – she’s currently in the level of “Pioneer within New Technics”. I’m going to admit right away – I play this game in Swedish so I’m not too sure about the english titles of the job.

I was surprised to see how highly level-wise she actually is in the profession, seeing she hasn’t visited Sixam yet. I think I recall Anna doing it fairly early. I guess we’ll see what happens! I’m just somewhat happy that the career is over. It’s a fun career, but it’s getting tedious.

I’ve started to work more on her personal life as well. Her boyfriend comes over nearly every weekend now, mostly to do some yoga, but they get some time together. I really need to care more for the relationship of her, especially since she’s doing the popularity ambition as we speak.

The weekends she doesn’t spend with her boyfriend, she spends in Granite Falls, taking a serious note at her Herbalism skill. She only skills, so far, she has yet to complete is Herbalism and Photography, and the latter one I’ll work on slowly because of how… boring it is to complete.

I love being in Granite Falls though. Maybe it simply is because it’s something new, I don’t know, but I just love it. And even more so that her best friend is a bear. For better and for worse, I guess.

Day two on my current The Sims streak, and seriously, this time a little bit actually happened.

Firstly, she was promoted I believe on her job, and moved forward quite a bit in her career. While I do enjoy the scientist career, I cannot wait for it to be over. So I can start the Doctors career and start off pretty much where I left it with Anna, which again is a stupid thing to say, as I have actually reached further than Anna with Aria. Oh well.

So, she has done small steps forward in her careers, I don’t think she’s been promoted since last time I wrote about her, but she has spent some nice quality time with her boyfriend.

I have been so caught up in setting up her store that I never really bothered to maintain the relationship with the boyfriend. But that is about to change. I’m making him her priority.

Another interesting thing that has gone down though, is that she’s been abducted by aliens. I guess it comes with the territory when she keep on contacting them through her work, what did however provoke me a bit is the fact that she was abducted TWICE in one week. Like, she was about to eat and then go to bed because she was dead tired, but nope. Abduction first, apparently.

Who knows how many times I’ll find her being taken away. Well, soon enough I guess her career will be over… and all will be well again.

Charmed Life

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized with tags , , on January 20, 2017 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, played a bit with Aria today, but I must admit, not a whole lot of progress. I guess this is, and I’ll admit it right away, that I have a bit of a hard time really sitting down PLAYING The Sims. For some reason I always feel the need to do several things all at once, not sure why. I need to change this veeery soon, and actually sit down and PLAY it. Perhaps then will I finally be able to move on.

Anyway, what has happened anyway is that she’s moved forward in her career. Not a whole lot obviously, as I’m still trying to get a hang of everything once again, but it’s slowly getting there. She moved up two steps on the career ladder, however.

Hopefully, if I perhaps sit down with one of the million albums I have just recieved to review, perhaps I can actually get through a proper session. I should probably try that. Like, sit down and just listen through the past discographies of bands I have to review and perhaps even bands who play festivals, and thus fooling myself into doing several things at once. Who knows.

Well, we’ll see when I decide to continue this! Until then!

Water under the Bridge

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized with tags , , on January 19, 2017 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, I’ve finally taken up on The Sims again! It’s been some time since I actually played, or well, it sure as hell feels like it, but inbetween I’ve managed to get to it!

What has happened since last is that I figured out I had the Outdoor Retreat expansion pack. I honestly did not know I had it. See, this is what is so problematic with digital copies rather than physical. Because, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out HOW Aria had gotten the herbal collecting skill, but then, well, yeah, I figured it out. And with that, I actually sent her and her boyfriend Travis off to Granite Falls for their first couple vacation.

They had a good run. It was quite necessary I believe, seeing I always focus too much on Aria’s careers to pay any sort of attention to her boyfriend, so this was well needed. Sadly, they only went for two days so not a lot happened, more than some bonding and some games.

After this vacation, it was time for Aria to start a new career. She is finally done with all the careers that were available, and has now started on her first Get To Work career – and I’m starting off with Scientist, as I already played through that career with Anna once.

It’s going ok. A bit slow, because I had forgotten how these careers actually work and found myself running around having no idea what to do – but we are now back on track.

So, with that said, I’ll check in with you later with more updates on Aria!

So, picking up from where I left it yesterday, I made sure to save after every single little sugarskull I found. Maybe it was simply me being impatient, but it felt as if it took longer time to collect them now. Perhaps I had just lost the spirit after the game dying on me.

The funniest part was that I was lurking around, and needing just one more sugarskull, when I saw this girl who for some reason hates my sim passing by. I figure she won’t give me a sugarskull, but I ran after her and pleaded to myself that “Please, I know you hate me but..” and then BIG GOLD SKULL appeared, and I had collected all nine! Thank you Elin! Thank you for, despite hating me, giving me the skull needed!

So, finally I could celebrate the Dia de los Muertos. Not a lot happened, in all honesty, or well, at least not for that little time I got to do it as I was about to head home, but it was nice to finish the challenge!

Aside that, I think she gained one level on her career, and finished some ambitions things. In all honesty, I stopped paying attention to everything else in Aria’s life when this challenge started.

Dia De Los Muertos

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on October 22, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

Suffering from the worst possible of Post Concert Depression, I went off to Kyo’s for a long awaited gaming weekend. Or actually, it wasn’t that long awaited – we planned it pretty recently in order to play through the Day of the Dead challenge the The Sims 4 team has put together.

We started the evening off with pizza for dinner and catching up talking about what happened recently. And then… off with the game!

I was a little unsure on how to actually do this, but I called down Jasmine Holiday and she informed me about the challenge, and then… It was just to give it a go. I traveled across the neighbourhood in hopes to find sugarskull people, but it was harder than I thought. And not only that, but you actually had to maintain a bit of friendship with the people having the skulls.

And the next problem for me was that, either there comes none, or there comes like five. I started up a system where I’d look in my phonebook and invite all the sugarskulls out for a date, and at one point it looked like a reality show.

And then, it turns out you might end up being given the same skulls over and over again. So it was a lot harder than it seemed. But finally – oh finally, did I get all nine, it was on that group gettogether… and I was gonna go down in my spa-basement to put the new ones in the shelf….

When the game crashed.

No progress saved whatsoever.

I felt like crying. Because truth to be told, Aria had also had a promotion and a few other things going, making me lose a lot of progress. It was about that time when I decided to call it a night.

It Snows In Hell

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized with tags , on September 25, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

Another day of playing The Sims has passed, and… well, there’s only so much progress there can be made in you know, ten or eleven hours, but some has been made! First and foremost: Don’t freak out. I just gave her a complete make over. It’s the same Sim, I promise!

To start off with Aria personally, she wrapped up the Author branch of the career and has now embarked on the last career remaining of the “usual” careers – Entertainment. Because of her current state of aspirations Popularity, more to be exact “Joke Star”, she very quickly embarked on the comedian branch of the career. I bought her the perk of going through the careers faster, and in this case I like it, I’ll see how much I’ll like it with the “Get To Work” careers.

Speaking of aspirations, she finished two since last – both in the Creative branch – “Best Selling Author” as well as “Painter Extraordinaire”. I don’t know for how long I struggled with the last one… She painted a lot of masterpieces when she was in the painting job, but as soon as I HAD to have masterpieces made, it was as if she simply couldn’t make them. What the hell. She also finished the “Joke Star” aspiration, and are now on the “Friend of the World” aspiration. It’s becoming less and less aspirations to choose from, and I want Family and Romantic to be the absolute last.

But, on the more exciting note, she finally opened her store. I came down to the store, not remembering at all what I had planned to build, but I used one of the lots to creative a spa store – selling candles, stone and meditation tools. And it was exciting! It was a tad bit similar to The Sims 2 Open for Business, as far as handling the customers, and since she’s alone for now, she’s made quite the profit! I hope to expand a bit more, and perhaps even hire someone one day. And hope they are better than the staff in The Sims 2, haha.

Well, that’s that for now. The gaming weekend is over and real life starts tomorrow. It has been a very good weekend though. All I wish is for my illness to go away. Like now.

Down with the Devil

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized with tags on September 24, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

I have spent the last, well, yeah, 24 hours with doing nothing but eating candy, talking and playing The Sims. I might have slept a couple of hours in between, but it’s irrelevant. Kyo and I are having one of our legendary The Sims weekends, and I have waited for this soooo long! To just go away for a weekend and do nothing but playing The Sims without a shame in the world.

So, how has my progress been since last?

Both a lot, but also not a lot. First and foremost I had gotten myself no less than four new The Sims games – “Dine Out” (which I technically got a few days ago) followed by “Outdoor Retreat”, “Luxury Party” and “Cool Kitchen” stuff packs. I had a hard time choosing what stuff packs to buy, because there are so many I wanted! or actually, in the end I want all of them, but which should I start with? I went with luxury stuff because I love fancy things, and then kitchen stuff more as a necessity rather than what I wanted the most.

I have yet to try them out properly, so I will get back to you about each pack once I’ve tried them a bit better, just to make that a bit clear.

But what’s happened with Aria since last? Well, with her, not a lot. She finally finished her art career, in Patron of the Art branch, and has now embarked on a writing career, where she just in this moment reached level six, choosing the author branch.

She has completed the mansion ambition, and in co-operation with her work, she’s now doing the writers ambition as well. Better to smash two flies at once, no?

As far as her house goes, changes has been made. At first I rebuilt the yoga center to a sauna, but upon realizing there were some bugs that made it difficult to build up there, I moved the entire thing down to the basement, where I made an entire floor out of health and fitness, like a center. It’s one room with the sauna and a relax part with a couch, one room with work out equipment, one room with bathtubs for mud baths, one room for meditation and yoga, and one room with a bathroom. At least for now. I plan to fix a place where they can get massage as well. I’m really happy with the turn out!

And secondly, I of course, rebuilt the kitchen. I extended it a bit and gave it a small make over. changed wallpapers and upgraded all of the furnitures. Made me superhappy. I think this is what I’ll focus on – making small improvements with every room as time goes on, rather than look to other houses.

So, that is a little bit what’s been going on these past 24 hours. Now, I’m heading off to work, and then back to playing again.

So, today, we are going to talk The Sims progress. For the first time in what feels like a long time, I actually have some time off and its spent the best way possible – with Sumo Cyco, Paula and The Sims 4.

And my oh my, have some progress been made today! First and foremost, I’ll tell you – she’s finally reached the top of the criminal career, on the boss branch. It was a horrible few last levels – I hate being mean to other Sims, so it was almost physically difficult to make it, but there it was. So, at last, she’s on top!

Secondly, I’ve gotten the reward for finishing every single skill of Aria. However, this isn’t true just yet – she has five more levels to go on Baking, and once she’s done with that, she will truly be done with every single skill. And now… I feel sort of empty. What is she supposed to do now?

So, my new project in the mean time while finishing off the careers, will be to make amends and get a lot of new good friends. I didn’t even know her boyfriend was still alive, as an example on things that I’ve left behind when she’s done her career. And it’s going good, she’s gotten a few new best friends now that Summer Holiday abandoned her.

So, basically, in these three hours I’ve been playing, we can all say that some good progress has been made. For next session, it’s a new career. What will it be? Well, we’ll see.
