Last Kiss

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on April 19, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, for the first time in probably two or three months, Michelle and I found ourselves back in the rehearsal lot. Seriously, I have missed this place so much. And as you can guess, there’s not a lot of progress to have been made today since we were both extremely rusty, although not as rusty as we thought we’d be. We went over the songs we already rehearsed from before, and we also managed to write the intro of our intro of our first album, or something. I guess that’s something?

Else from this, we’ve more or less made each other lose it because we mess up at the most stupidest of places, but you know. If it ain’t a bit fun, you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. But I feel positive though. I mean, we’re getting somewhere!

rehersal

And on top of that… no stable today. Not sure if I mentioned it, but my foot’s been injuried ever since I came home from France, and it still hasn’t gotten better, so I try to refrain from physical activities to save myself for the job.

Evening spent with Kyo though, and doing some progress on Aria. She’s by now finished the entire Astronaut career, and she’s at level 8 already on the violin, which I started today, which I had to pause because I needed to get going at rocket science. But yeah. What I love is that Aria is finally catching up on Anna. I believe she’s actually around the same level, or possibly a bit ahead of Anna so far. She may not have done as many careers yet, not sure since Anna made more Get To Work careers, and Aria has done none, so. But, all is well really!

REVIEW: Dynazty – Titanic Mass

Posted in CDs, Music, Uncategorized with tags , , on April 15, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

So it’s finally here you guys! Dynazty’s fifth album, second with the new sound. “Renatus” (2014) really ambushed me BIG TIME last time, seeing I was expecting their previous sound. But seriously, all for the better. “Renatus” was such an amazing album, that despite being a band I don’t follow all that closely, it still holds a position as the most played album.

So, you could say that once I saw “Titanic Mass” being in the making I started getting excited, and once I had seen the video for “The Human Paradox” I literally couldn’t contain myself in wait for this album. I mean, “The Northern End” is really one of the best songs in modern metal history, but this sounded extremely promising.

Today was the day when it finally came in the mail, I couldn’t wait to put in the player to hear. So, lets get to verdict, shall we?

titanicmass

The album is opened by no other song than “The Human Paradox” which set the bar quite high, if you ask me with it’s big choruses and catchy melody lines, a bit of a slap in the face if you like. It continues onto in this tempo right into the second track of the album “Untamer of your Soul”, and seriously, what a rush this song is!

And most of the album goes in this vein – it’s a lot of “Renatus”, in the single “Roar of the Underdog” I’m certain you can literally hear some pieces from “Run Amok”. What I would want to say and add to this though, is that some of it’s material is a little bit heavier than the preceeder. The titletrack and “Keys To Paradise” are a few songs that proves it, but it still a whole lot of catchy melodies and epic choruses.

However, there’s one song on this album that my heart beats a little extra for.

“I Want To Live Forever”.

When taking notes I called it  a battle song, because that’s how it started off, but it just blossomed into this epic sort of song that just builds up all through the verse and just explodes in the chorus. Have I mentioned in this post yet how much I love Nils Molins vocals? I’m pretty positive his voice alone are a major reason I love this band as much as I do.

But all this aside – this is a worthy follow up to “Renatus”. Quality songwriting, flawless performance from the bandmembers (can we just appriciate Egg’s capability of doing double bass with one foot?) and the mixing is just as flawless as the rest. I was not disappointed, that is for sure. Holy hell. I now have two of these amazing albums, with what could possibly be the most underrated band in Sweden today. Why aren’t they getting any more recognition?

Seriously, get out and get it!

Raise Your Fist, Evangelist

So, today, was the first day of preparations for my job on a major television production. In a way, it’s been a very… Like. I got on the bus to Stockholm around 7 in the morning, and was greeted by the nicest spring weather you could ask for. And seriously, walking down Drottninggatan I realized how much I’ve actually missed this city while being away. Brisbane, Paris and Frankfurt in all honor – but nothing’s like rude city people in Stockholm during springtime. And of course, with the Michael Jackson impersonator out, you really know – spring is here!

I ran a few quick errands before going to the introduction class, and it was… surreal in a way. I can’t really believe that I’ll actually be working this production, nor can I believe I’ll work with core production on top of it. The introduction lasted three hours, and then I ran a couple of more errands (bless Europe and long opening hours!) before getting on the bus home.

It’s been a very long day in a way. I mean.. I’ve been on a bus for a total of nine hours, for a three and a half hour lecture. The things we do for the things we love, huh?

The Perfect Woman

The next in line on my list on people was of course Emelie. We met up downtown and seeing her was like… I can’t even describe it. At first I was unsure if I’d even see her, but then when I saw her I was just like “Emelie!”. We decided to go to Espresso House, which I really didn’t mind because I sure as hell have missed a caramel latte so badly. So, we got everything, got seated… And of course, you know what I’m gonna say.

Vegemite challenge! Out of all my victims, she was the who was the most reluctant to get into it. But eventually she did, and she’s among the people who had the worst reaction of all.

Aside that, we simply sat and enjoyed each others company. Again, talking about the trip, the stable, what’s been new and what is not, her application for colleges abroad and everything in between. Seriously, these catching up moments are incredible.

We sat at the place for quite some time before it was time for me to get home and get ready for my first day at work back from the trip. Exciting! Thanks Emelie, for this day.

So, new day, but also second day to catch up with some people that I sure as hell have missed a lot while being down under! And next out was Jonathan. We met up downtown and went to this supercute little place to have lunch, or well, late lunch I guess.

First, since I’m a superhorrible person, I had him do the Vegemite challenge. I think he’s the one who’s so far responded the best to it, not like you know, dying. Only almost. After that followed the exchange of music – he gave me a USB drive with some songs he thought I should hear (house music) and I gave him a CD with some metal songs I thought he should hear. It’s a pretty cool initiative.

vegemitchallengejonte

The lunch really followed with us just catching up on the trip, what’s happened at home while I was away and everything. We even found ourselves losing track of time and wound up staying at the place long overdue their closing hours. oops.  I guess they didn’t mind too much!

After that, we went our separate ways and I went back to my bombed whorehouse and kept trying to unpack my stuff and some weak attempts of cleaning. It’s a great thing that Serenity’s “Codex Atlanticus” could keep me company!

Thanks Jonathan for this day though, it was great!

Amen & Attack

Seriously. I rebooked the bus today, because I figured I’d actually use the hotel room once I actually had one, and despite doing this, I almost missed my check out. I guess these past days of jetlag + too little sleep really took out it’s turn! But, really, I don’t complain too much about it, the less I have to wait for the bus the better.

Once down at Oslo central I got myself some of the most delicious bread I have had in a long time, together with crisps and the mandatory milk. I do not know what it is with me and milk, but I always get it when in Norway.

The bus was a little late because of a mistake from the busdriver, but you know, such things happens! The busride was just fine, a bit boring. I guess after all this long traveling I actually got tired of it. Once home in Sweden… it was so weird. It was so weird to be home in your town, seeing everything… You know…

Once home I started unpacking right away until I got too tired of it and just crashed. In my own bed. In my own room. With my CD’s playing in my CD player. And I also cursed the fact that I didn’t clean the place before I left.

And then I caught with the most precious one – my little baby Vermilion. Seroiusly, I have missed my little hamster so much while being away, and I hope I don’t have to be away from her this long ever again. But there was one more person I needed to see – Kyo.

So after saying “fuck this” to everything I got in the car and went to see Kyo. The first thing I forced her through was of course the Vegemite challenge. She did not appreciate, like, at all, haha. And then… gaming, catching up, watching videos… all the normal shit we usually do.

Metal Mass Clermont-Ferrand (part 3)

Posted in Travels, Uncategorized on April 3, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

So… Late night and early morning isn’t exactly the best combination. I do it a lot in my jobs, but damn it. It was hard waking up, although I find it quite interesting that I woke up by Madlen’s alarm, and she woke up by mine (they were a few minutes apart) rather than the other way around. We heard Sophie and Marianne getting up as well, and seriously… this morning is something of the most wonderful I’ve seen. Four broken warriors who can barely keep their eyes open, walking around like sloths trying to pull their things together before leaving to the trainstation. I guess this is what international travel and amazing concerts do to you.

So, we got to the trainstation after a few ifs and buts and a heartfelt good bye to Marianne, and decided to pick up some quick breakfast for the train. Madlen and I were gonna treat ourselves a coffee, so we normally asked Sophie to pick up small coffees for us. And the cup we got back was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen.

I swear to you, the cup was no larger than five centimeters. In height. Like, are you guys for real? Like Madlen said, this is not a small coffee, this is a tiny coffee. Startled with our small coffees and sleepdrunken eyes, we got on the train outbound to Paris. This was the train we wound up having three different coaches in, but we figured we’d give it a go and sit together and just move in case someone comes, but it all worked out fine.

Once in Paris, we got out of the train station and walked what seemed like forever through the station and eventually reached a mall where we found a McDonalds where we could have lunch and just spend some last time quality time for now. And that is what it was. Talking. Laughing. Eating. Sophie leaved a bit earlier to catch her train, and waaay too soon did the time for me and Madlen to also go our separate ways. So many heartfelt good byes in one day is difficult.

Once at the airport,  I first walked around the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. Like, you sort of had to walk around in a circle that spiraled to get to the trains to the correct terminal, and once at the airport they searched your handluggage before you could even enter the airport. Yay for increased security! Seriously, it’s the biggest shame on Earth that we’d need to have it like this.

I checked in my luggage, went through the screening and then I chose a nice little seat with a charger next to it and spent the next four hours waiting for my flight chatting with the girls. I accidently chose the seat next to my terminal, so I guess you could call it a score. The plane arrived, boarding… While on the plane I looked back into the back of my catalouge on my iPod and found myself half sleeping on the flight and half crying because I miss Wig Wam so much it hurts.

The plane landed a bit ahead of time, but instead I had to spend the longest wait ever for my luggage. I had a superbad feeling in my gut, because when going betwen Clermont and Frankfurt, I had just thrown stuff into the bags, and I never searched them in Clermont so I was freaked out there might be some prohibited items, and it didn’t get better from the fact I had to wait longer than I’m used to for my bags. BUT! All was good.

Got on the train towards Oslo, wandered about Oslo for a while (yes I got lost) and then I could finally crash in what was an extremely nice hotel room actually. Oh my God, Europe’s been treating me well since I came back really. Talked some more with the girls before it was time to crash.

Again, I can’t thank you enough – All of you involved in this weekend because it’s been nothing but amazing. Madlen, Sophie, Marianne, Michelle, Toni, Daniel, Cyril – new friends found on the concerts and of course – Serenity, Battle Beast and Powerwolf. Thank you all for this amazing trip.

Powerwolf @ La Cooperative de Mai, Clermont-Ferrand, France 2/4 -16

Posted in Concerts, Music, Travels, Uncategorized with tags , , , , on April 2, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, the good thing about Clermont-Ferrand is that they realize that people traveling on trains might actually have luggage, and they served us with both elevators and escalators. Hallelujah! Day was saved, I guess. Or at least our arms. Sophie was a doll and helped me carry a suitcase, sweetheart.

So, once in Clermont-Ferrand we started looking for our friends and the apartment, and after walking for a little bit we bumped into our French friends who’d come to greet us! It was Marianne as front runner, and she had Nicolaus and Lea with her. So, we kept on walking for some time until we finally made it to the apartment.

Once there, we all started to get ready. Getting changed… And with that said, it was time for a few more people to do the Vegemite challenge. Marianne was first out and yeah, no, she didn’t like it. Next up was Lea, and she wasn’t a too big fan of it either, and then… last in line was the mother of it all – Sophie. She is the one who started this whole thing, and despite testing it before she figure she’d give it a try again. She did, and… it looked like she was gonna vomit. Madlen made the way to the toilet clear, but Sophie just dashed for the kitchen instead.

After this, make up time. For all of us really. Madlen has her usual make up, and since I have a weak heart for Roel, I figured I’d go for one of his versions. To co-operate it a little more, Marianne went for Attila and we gave Sophie Falk’s face. She didn’t really have much of a choice, but she didn’t seem to mind.

Once all done, we headed down to the usual place – McDonalds. We had some quick dinner and again, I always overbuy. I have a hard time estimating how hungry I really am. Sophie had waaay too much fun with her Falk make-up and kept taking photos with weird alterations to show us all.

Once done, we went to the venue. And the thing is… We see this big black crowd of people, and we all are like “is that the venue?” “But there are so many people!” and I don’t know, I just found myself wrapped up a bit of the clarity of the moment, but the confusion for us.

Directly, we found Daniel and Toni and went to say hi, and Madlen found some of her friends as well. So, basically, that’s what we did. We stood around in the line, catching up on ALL the things that had happened in the past, what, 14 hours? (sarcasm) and once the doors opened, we got inside. The interesting thing with this venue was the fact that they had different doors depending on where you’d bought your tickets. That’s a first.

So, we got inside the venue and we scored decent spots on the first and second row, together in a little group on Charles side of the stage (Amen’s, if you speak Lordi) and the wait began. And really, not too long after we got in, Serenity got on stage.

And again, FLAWLESS set! Seriously, these men keep winning me over the more I see them. Like I already wrote, flawless set and they were over way too soon. I can’t believe this is the last time I’m seeing them for now, I already started missing them as they went off stage.

160402serenityclmtfrdlcdmai

I think it was at this point I asked Nicolas to keep my spot for a moment while I went out and got two bottles of water – seriously, you are always in a need of this. And then, before we knew it, Battle Beast went on stage.

Just as yesterday, “Let it Roar” was the opening song and seriously, this band live is beyond amazing. “I Want the World… And Everything In It!” “Out on the Streets” were next in line, but honestly, what made this night just a tad bit better than yesterday must have been the company, you know? We were a fairly large group this time, which made it even better.

“Touch in the Night” as next on the list.. you know, like I stated above, just better. Just perfect. In fact, the whole set was just perfect. Everything about this night is just perfect, right in this moment. All good things comes to an end though, and before we knew it they wrapped up the set with “Out of Control” and walked off stage.

160402battlebeastclmtfrdlcdmai

You know, sometimes, when you’re anticipating a show, and the excitement builds up, and soon enough you can cut the excitement with a knife, because that’s how thick it is? You could say this is what was going on at La Cooperative De Mai between Powerwolf and Battle Beast. Exhaustion after an amazing set, but also excitement for Powerwolf, first gig for both Marianne and Sophie, so you know… bubble’s about to burst!

And then… Lights out, intro on and “Blessed and Possessed”. And this you know, this is the moment where the bubble bursts. When everything that was built up inside, inside of everyone at La Cooperative De Mai just explodes out and gets blended with the energy radiated from stage into one big mass of emotions.

160402powerwolf2clmtfrdlcdmai

“Coleus Sanctus” was next on the list, followed by “Amen & Attack”. Seriously, can we just, appriciate how fantastic this band is? I’ve probably written this already about them and others, but seriously, is there anything more glorious in this world than the men and women in front of you on stage? “Sacred and Wild” and “Army of the Night” were the next on the list.

160402powerwolf3clmtfrdlcdmai

I’m actually going to cut this a bit short, because I honestly don’t know what to say. It’s just… Everything was perfect. Best friends, best band on stage, and despite not knowing most of the people in the place, are all coming there, coming together for this. For the metal mass. And it’s in everything from howling in “Werewolves From Armenia” to the germans prank on the band, to half of the venue kneeling down for “Lupus Dei” (Thanks Madlen & co for including us in the ritual) even thought I must admit I thought the audience could have caught on a little better than they did, it’s like when people don’t sit down for “Spit it Out”. Like, come on, for the band!

Way too soon did the encores hit and the set was wrapped up with “Sanctified With Dynamite”, “Kreuzfeuer” and “All We Need is Blood”.

160402powerwolf4clmtfrdlcdmai

I headed over to the merch to pick up some Battle Beast merchandise and then Serenity, and I believe it’s somewhere here that we all sort of lose track of each other. All I know is that Madlen went out, Soph and Marianne were originally with me, but once I made it to Serenity I found myself hanging out with Cyril and one of the leaders of Serenitys fanclub. It’s strange, isn’t it, how people move around and how easily you lose each other? I got my CD signed by Serenity and went out of the venue and spotted Daniel and Toni, and asked if they knew were Madlen were. By the time we found her, the French girls were back and finally we were the group again, haha.

The rest of the night were spent spending time with each other, joking around, talking a bit, basically just enjoying each others company (well..) one last time for this time around. But, as time passed on, it became time for everyone to go their separate ways and it became one of the most heartfelt good byes in a long time.

Thank you, everyone involved in this night – new friends and old friends, and of course – the bands. Thank you!

Metal Mas Clermont-Ferrand (part 1)

Posted in Travels, Uncategorized on April 2, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

Exactly 6 am did my alarm ring and I laid and stared up the ceiling for a good five minutes before I dragged myself out of bed. The good thing about being on tours going TO a show, is that it motivates everything. It’s a lot easier to get out of bed (I said easier, not easy haha) and get your stuff together, because you really don’t wanna miss the train or bus. And especially not when the train ride is as long as this one, because we’d be essentially fucked if we missed it.

So, I collected my stuff, made a quick cup of tea which I downed so fast I burned my tounge. Ordinary things. I got down the hall, and despite this being around you know, 6.20 in the morning, there was a line. A fucking line for the check out. Well, good riddance on me that we decided to meet 30 minutes prior to the train, and that the railway station was just a few minutes away.

While down at the trainstation I didn’t find Madlen right away, but I figured I’d go to our track and I’d find her there, and I sort of did! She was on her way to the big hall but we just turned the other way around and got back to the track. I was sooo surprised to see that our train was already at the track, like, this doesn’t happen in Sweden. So we found our seats, got on the train, being more in a zombie mood than anything.

We planned to sleep, but it wasn’t really until we were a bit in the trip we actually tried to sleep. And then, we woke up right as we approached Saarbrücken. What a coincidence. We spent the next half an hour or so being confused to whether or not we were in France or not until the lady next to us told us we indeed were.

At this point there were barely any idea to go back to sleep, so we just let it be and really, literally, before we knew it, we were in Paris. Like, Sophie texted us that she’d be late, but that she was in the subway now, and we were both a bit confused, like “ok…” and then we approached a station, and we realized “Wait… WAIT.” Haha.

So, we got of the train with all my heavy luggage, seriously, I should really just have shipped off one of these with Michelle while I still had the chance. Anyway, almost directly we ran into our little Sophie, and it was a hugfest deluxe! Seriously, I haven’t seen this woman since Lordi’s Scare Force One release gig in 2014, so it was well overdue! The first thing we did was getting into the subway to get to a McDonalds for some lunch, and conveniently there was a McDonalds close to the subway station we’d need to change subway in… Did that sentence make any sense?

Anyway, once there, Madlen and I for starters got stuck in the elevator. Like. We tried to go up, but it would just keep opening the doors and never work. Then, out of nowhere, it went up and we were like “ok what just happened”. We found some cozy seats, and Sophie delivered the first batch of food and while she went down to get the second tray, we took the oppurtunity to place the jar of Vegemite amongst her food.

As she got back, we patiently waited to see her reaction as she’d move her food…. but she never did. She started eating her food directly of the tray, and despite me and Madlen’s extremely poor poker faces, she didn’t get it. At one point, Madlen even yelled out “OH COME ON!” and all that happened was Sophie apologizing for eating. But, after a while, she finally found the jar and gave me a look that could kill. This little thing led to Madlen doing the Vegemite Challenge, which… yeah, her reaction wasn’t the best, haha!

maddysophie

It was time for us to get going so we wouldn’t miss our train and so we did. It was a bit of hell to get down all the stairs with the luggage, but somehow we managed. For the train to Clermont-Ferrand, Sophie and I had gotten seats at the same place, but Madlen was in a different coach, however, we figure’d we’d get together in one coach and if someone comes, we’d ask them to switch with us.

On this train, on the other hand… We did actually get a bit of rest. All three of us, perhaps not on the same time, but we did.  I think sometime an hour or so before reaching Clermont-Ferrand we were all up and going getting excited for the show. Cyril got in touch and told he was there at this point, and as we approached the trainstation, excitment evolved.

Powerwolf @ Batschkapp, Frankfurt, Germany 1/4 – 16

Posted in Concerts, Music, Thiz Izz Djermani, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on April 1, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

SO THE D-DAY IS HERE. Seriously, I love Australia and all, but Blessed and Possessed tour is literally what I’ve been going and waiting for the entire time. The Ultimate Enigma was great and all, but how can that beat Powerwolf AND Battle Beast, all in one evening? Nope.

Met up Michelle early in the morning to deliver some stuff for her to take in her luggage to make things a little bit easier on my part when going to Clermont-Ferrand and then we had a, what you could say, fancier breakfast, for once. Found this supercute place down the Kaiserstrasse, “What The Food!” Superdelicious food and superamazing staff. Warmly recommended would you ever need tasty breakfast in Frankfurt city.

With that said, we got to our respective hotels and started to get ourselves ready for the night. Michelle stopped by with some food and that’s when we finally found the time to do the dreaded Vegemite challenge. Seriously, oh my God. Sophie is going down for this one, haha! Gladly, I was smart enough to only take a little bit, while Michelle took quite a lot and almost made herself throw up… Dear lord.

After this, some final touches and then we were finally on the go. We got through the U-Bahn and gladly we found some other Powerwolf fans we could follow. I’ve been to Batschkapp once before, but I remember how disoriented all three of us where, so it felt good that we could take back on some other people. Of course, in the midst of it Michelle is like “What if they are really on their way to a pre-party or something and we’re just following them like some creepy stalkers?”

Thanks, Michelle. Thank you.

We got the line, and it was quite a line already, but hey, what do you expect when you arrive like, half an hour or so before the show starts? We waited in line for some time, I’m not sure if perhaps they were delayed or early with the doors, but they opened 17.52 exactly. I’d know this, because I was trying to calm down a hysteric Madlen on the other side of the phone.

So, we got let in and the first thing we did was to hit the bathroom and once we got out, we went into the venue and went on a quest to find Daniel and Toni. Which wasn’t that hard. You sort of see them. On a lightyears distance. So we went to them to say hi, but wound up staying with them throughout the show. This is also where I’d in fact ‘meet’ Toni for the first time and also Szilvi!

After a little bit of waiting, Serenity entered the stage and started their show.

So, I’m both unfamiliar but also not with Serenity prior to this show. I’m unfamiliar to the music, but I’ve seen a lot of their sponsored ads on Facebook, and after I realized they’d be on tour with Powerwolf I paid a bit more attention, but did not look up any music.

But, DAMN, I liked them. Or like, LIKED THEM. Damn damn damn. So fucking good I barely have any words for it, haha. It’s almost pathetic. They put on a great show and I was determined to get their latest album after the show, that’s for sure.

160401serenitybatschkappfrankfurt

Next up on the stage was Battle Beast, which is one of the two bands I’d been looking forward to a lot.

So, they got on the stage and opened the show with “Let It Roar” and my god, what a band! And Noora! What a performer! They continued on very strongly with “I Want The World … And Everything In It” and seriously, this band, what a rush! “Out on the Streets” were next before it was time for my personal favorite, “Touch in the Night” Of course not without Daniel so delicately enlighten me about this, due to a discussion we had two days ago. Haha. But seriously, this song live though, what a rush!

“Fight, Kill, Die” and “Black Ninja” were the next songs on the list followed by “Iron Hand” and “Enter The Metal World” before they wrapped it all up with “Out of Control”. The band thanked for the evening and walked off stage.

I’ve already said it once before very recently, but I need to state it again: WHAT A RUSH. Seriously, this band, Noora as a performer, WHAT A RUSH!

160401battlebeastbatschkappfrankfurt

After this, the wait for Powerwolf began and at this point I noticed Cyril, my French friend had arrived, holding a position up on the balcony. And with Cyril there’s only one way to greet him – with the face. The Face, as Ashleigh would call it. It was good to see him again!

And then, lights out and Powerwolf started. Intro. Band members entering and then the epic tunes of “Blessed and Possessed” started echoing through the venue with all the lights pointing right onto you, creating probably one of the most beautiful visions in front of you. I’m always going to applaud Powerwolf for their work with the lights.

After one of the most epic openings seen in a long time, “Coleus Sanctus” followed suit, and then “Amen & Attack” Seriously, that song though. Never, ever, fails to disappoint you.

Three songs into the setlist and my heart is already racing with happy emotions and exhaustion. The best feeling in the world, I’m telling you.

“Sacred and Wild” was next, followed by “Army of the Night” which was another jump-fest deluxe. Seriously, if this isn’t the work out of the year, I don’t know what is. “Resurrection by Erection”, my favorite headbang song “Armata Strigoi” and “Dead Until Dark” followed before the mood was turned down a bit for prayer in “Let There Be Night”.

160401powerwolfbatschkappfrankfurt

“Werewolves of Armenia” was next on the list, and seriously, this one live is beyond epic. In fact, all of it is, I’m just sort of running out of words to write about this show. “Saturday Satan” was next on the list, followed by “In The Name of God”.

The set was wrapped up with “We Drink Your Blood” and “Lupus Dei” and it was quite epic, I must admit, to see pretty much the entire arena getting down on their knees for the song. For once, you know. Most of the time people just ignore these kind of things.

The band left the stage, and “Agnus Dei” started echoing in the speakers before the band returned and ripped off “Sanctified With Dynamite”. Seriously, what is it with this band and raising your heartrate?

My personal favorite “Kreuzfeuer” followed before they wrapped up the set with “All We Need Is Blood”.

Seriously, what a rush. I was close to wiped out completely after this show, which only means one thing: One hell of a show. Thank you, Powerwolf for this show. It was amazing. I love you.

After the show, we first went to the merchandise to check it out real quickly and caught up with Cyril. And then I see a familiar person. Could it be? YES! It was Madlen. God. I haven’t seen this girl since Noch Ein Bier, and sure, it may only be like, what, nine months? But nine months is A LOT. I told her that “see, you made it!” which she responded “yeah, to the last song!” Haha. Well… She made it! Oh, this will be a lot of fun.

We hung out quite a while after show, before it was time for all of us to head to our own destinations. Madlen was kind enough to drive us home to our hotels, and we avoided speaking about how early we’d need to get up the next morning, but then again, it’s easy when it is for bands, right?

Thank you all involved for this amazing night – you are the best people in the world. I love you all.
