Introducing: Aria Cavanaugh

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on April 22, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve properly introduced Aria to you all, and most importantly, it might be a bit hard for you all to keep up on her progress if you have no idea where to start in the first place. So, let me get you all started on who she is!

2016-02-16_19-47-41

This is Aria Cavanaugh, current age is young adult. She lives in one of the beginners houses, named Krickebo on Swedish. I’ve been rebuilding the house, by adding a second floor to be able to fit more things which she’ll need as we go along.

Her current personality traits are as follows; Genius, Muser, Quick Learner, Ambitious, Business mind, Independent, Creative and Schooled (?). She’s currently working in the Athlete career.  She’s currently in the Knowledge ambition, amining to become a Computer Whiz.

By the time I write this, she’s finished a total of four careers;
* Cooking – Mixologist
* Business – Investor
* Secret Agent – Diamond Agent
* Astronaut – Interstellar Smuggler

So far, she’s finished 14 skills, which are as follows:
* Fishing
* Violin
* Guitar
* Gourmetcooking
* Cooking
* Charisma
* Logic
* Mixology
* Piano
* Programming
* Rocket Science
* Gaming
* Gardening
* Fitness

She’s currently at level nine of Comedic skill, eight in handiness and are just starting out in painting. I’m sort of working my way through the skills as I go through the careers, filling out the empty days with easily aquired skills.

2016-04-23_00-32-51

As for ambitions; this is actually low prioritized for me as of now, as I focus more on the careers, but for now she’s cleared the following:
* Knowledge
– Renaissance Sim

My plans with Aria is to work through all the careers and aquire all of the skills, as well as get through all of the ambitions. Once this is done, I’ll have her marry her boyfriend, work through all the careers with him as well, just the opposite branch and once that is done, they’ll have a baby. At least I think this is what will happen. A little bit like what I did with Rose. The only thing that scares me about the baby thing is that it might ruin the family, like it did with Rose. Despite having my Cullens family in The Sims 3, I really do not like playing multiple sims. Who would have thought, eh?

So, now that I’ve given you a full introduction of Aria and what her up – to -dates are, it should be easier for you to follow, no?

Last Kiss

So, for the first time in probably two or three months, Michelle and I found ourselves back in the rehearsal lot. Seriously, I have missed this place so much. And as you can guess, there’s not a lot of progress to have been made today since we were both extremely rusty, although not as rusty as we thought we’d be. We went over the songs we already rehearsed from before, and we also managed to write the intro of our intro of our first album, or something. I guess that’s something?

Else from this, we’ve more or less made each other lose it because we mess up at the most stupidest of places, but you know. If it ain’t a bit fun, you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. But I feel positive though. I mean, we’re getting somewhere!

And on top of that… no stable today. Not sure if I mentioned it, but my foot’s been injuried ever since I came home from France, and it still hasn’t gotten better, so I try to refrain from physical activities to save myself for the job.

Evening spent with Kyo though, and doing some progress on Aria. She’s by now finished the entire Astronaut career, and she’s at level 8 already on the violin, which I started today, which I had to pause because I needed to get going at rocket science. But yeah. What I love is that Aria is finally catching up on Anna. I believe she’s actually around the same level, or possibly a bit ahead of Anna so far. She may not have done as many careers yet, not sure since Anna made more Get To Work careers, and Aria has done none, so. But, all is well really!

Another sort of slow day. It may not make much sense to most of you why one would have slow days while being down under, but I guess this is a bit of my travel-fever. That whenever I’m about to take off somewhere, I get a bit.. “sick”, like I’ve talked about before. That I don’t wanna do it, I get very closed to myself… you know, that sort of stuff.

I went downtown and walked around the city for most of the day, came home and walked down the excercise path that I love so much, painfully a bit, knowing this would be the last time I’d see it for now.

I got back in good time, because right when I got home, the skies opened and the rain poured down. Spent the rest of night slowly starting to pack and playing The Sims.

Progress with Aria is moving pretty fast now. She’s finished off yet another career, and once she’s done with this one (Business) I’ll get her into a Get To Work career, probably the Doctor one in order to keep on the legacy from where Anna stopped. It’s all exciting – all these hours put into Aria is finally paying off, and she’s getting so close to Anna that it’s not annoying to play anymore, which makes me extremely happy. There’s nothing I hate more than to start over with a sim, especially when it’s in such an unnecessary case like this.

So mostly now, I’m planning her house. Originally I wanted to move her to a bigger house in the neighbourhood, but after starting to decorate her place I’m thinking more and more about just adding an extra floor… I guess we’ll see what I actually do.

And by the way: ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT FOR POWERWOLF AND BATTLE BEAST!

Today has been a resting day. Or well, sort of at least. Ever since the exhausting week at New Zealand, I’ve been on and off sick, and getting not well prepared food didn’t exactly help my case. Regardless, Curt and I went on an almost 3 hour walk, which was nice. Getting some quality time.

It hasn’t been the best of weather today, so I took up a bit on my The Sims today. Aria’s getting somewhere finally – as I’m writing this I’m waiting for four simsdays to go by so she FINALLY can reach the top of the bartender career and move on to a new job. What else has happened.. Well, she was a level five, I might add, so I’ve raised her five levels. She’s done with mixology and charisma skill, so it’s all good. She’s getting somewhere with the others as well, so I’d say all is going good!

At dinner today we watched Alice Cooper’s Theatre of Death tour recorded at Hammersmith in 2009. I can honestly say, out of all the tours I’ve seen with Alice Cooper, and I’ve seen quite a few the past nine years, this still remains the best tour he put on. Seriously – everything is perfect. The setlist is perfect, the theatrics is perfect, literally everything is just perfect.

I’m really looking forward to see Alice again this summer. I really, really am.

Secrets

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on February 21, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

I didn’t realize how hard it would actually be. To start over. Again. I mean, I have done it before, with The Cullens. For those of you who are new to my blog and to me, The Cullens were the first family I ever made in The Sims 3 on the day it came out, and I kept playing the family all throughout the years until one day, my game decided to slaughter the family and some of the files.

It was hard. I had gotten so far with the Cullens, achieved so much… all gone.

Imagine then, my friends, how hard it was for me to once again go through this kind of loss. But this time, it was with Anna Arendelle, my pride in The Sims 4. Halfway through a doctors career, she had everything going for her… and then the harddrive in my computer decided to crash.

Since then, the computer has been fixed and a new girl has come into town, Aria Cavanaugh as I’ve told you about. The only thing is… it’s not fun.

I spent about six hours playing The Sims 4 today after work, but it was so… mono. Like… It’s hard to bounce back. Here I am, with a sim who knows nothing, has no money, nothing. Sure, I love the challenge, but I guess something died in me when Anna died, just like when The Cullens died, or even as far back as when I burned down the majority of Andersson-Svensson in The Sims 1.

Hopefully, it’ll pass, and that I’ll soon get the passion back to play with Aria, not because I particularly miss The Sims 4, I could easily install The Sims 3 and continue with Elsa Arendelle where I left her… but because Aria deserves it. Aria as a sim deserves to be played and loved, and to carry on Anna’s legacy where she left off.

So with that said, as soon as Aria has mastered the career of bartending, she’ll dive right into the doctors career. Bear with me, Aria.

Ritual

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on February 16, 2016 by Sara Hammerzmith

Today I finally got around to re-installing The Sims 4, and it was also at this time I had to understand and come to the realization that Anna Arendelle is no more. It makes me heartbroken on one hand, because once I re-installed The Sims 4 I found saves folders that were nowhere to be found on our back up, so I just simply had to suck it up and live with it.

So, with that said, it’s time to introduce a new girl in town. Her name is Aria Cavanaugh, named after Aria Montgomery and Toby Cavanaugh from “Pretty Little Liars”.

aria

So this is Aria. She lives in Willow Creek, and her life goal is to learn all skills possible. This differs a bit from Anna, whose life goal was to be as rich and wealthy as possible. Anna’s main personality trait is being a fast learner, and the following are genius, creative and ambitious. I was thinking a bit between Genius and Good, but I figured Genius is better in case I wanna get into the bad career paths.

She’s currently living in a two room house, just starting off her first job in culinary. I think I’ll make her a bartender, but I haven’t decided just yet. I guess I have to look into which one has the better perks, unlocking items that is. She’s going to have a few on and off careers for a while, in order to build up her skill “database” to get her SOMEWHERE…

It’s always rough to start over from the start with a new family when you went so far with your previous one. Giving up on The Cullens in The Sims 3 was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, after all I worked through with them and how far they had gotten. They earned one million § alone on Mondays, and that kind of success doesn’t come from nowhere. Carlisle earned about 2000§ an hour.  So yeah. Starting over is hard, but you need to do it eventually.

The Sims Challenge: Day 8

Posted in 30 Day The Sims Challenge, The Sims, Uncategorized on August 29, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

8. How are the Pleasants doing?

The Pleasants… at first I didn’t even realize what sims you were talking about, and I can’t say I remember the Pleasants from The Sims 2, however I do remember them from The Sims 1, so I will answer this question for TS1.

Well… What happened. Not a lot. After I was done with the try-outs, I kinda gave them up. I think I remember that I did indeed get them a baby, at some point, at some time I was playing them, but I can’t say that I played a lot on them. I’ve always been a bigger fan of making my own families rather than playing on already existing ones, Caliente being literally the exception because I liked the sims in that family too much to not play them.

So yeah. Boring answer, but not a lot. Sadly.

The Sims Challenge: Day 7

Posted in 30 Day The Sims Challenge, The Sims, Uncategorized on August 13, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Day 7: What about those Caliente sisters?

Caliente. I loved Caliente in The Sims 2, and I think there might have been something about me sometime in the future having that. Living in a flat with your best friend, and by playing Caliente you kinda got to live it through the game.

However, despite me playing the family A LOT, it was many years ago now. And I don’t remember a whole lot. I believe they had a job each, as usual, and I paired them up with some guys from the neighbourhood… fairly average The Sims game, or, average for me at the time. I hadn’t yet gotten into that competitive thing where I had to make them supersims.

I might have hooked one of them up with the Bachelor, if I remember correctly. Only because the game “introduction” said that shouldn’t happen, haha.

Well, yeah. Now you guys know!

Fast Love

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on August 7, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Today was the day Anna finally reached the top of the Astronaut / Space Guardian career. This this said, she has now completed TWO full careers (Science being the first one for those of you who hasn’t kept up) and now this. My plan is, like stated before, to go through all of the careers, so this is just the start.

After working a day or two in her new position, I chose my new career for her. It was a tough choice I must admit, but looking at schedules, I eventually decided I’d go with a criminal career. I had originally planned to go with a culinary career, but since they weren’t working on Thursday I decided against it. I wanna get on it as soon as possible, and on her first day of work she managed to get promoted.

I have a slight feeling this criminal career will move fast. Like, really fast.

My next plans for her house is to either extend the actual building, the more skills and such she obtains the bigger space she needs, but I wanna wait until I have some of the stuff and game packs, to make sure I really have EVERYTHING I’ll need. I really can’t wait.

Spent most of my free time today playing The Sims. It’s kinda nice you know – between working with the newspapers and applying for new jobs, to take some “time off” playing my most loved games.

To give you a bit of an update, Anna has finally quit her job at the science lab, not sure if I told you, but she did. She’s started a career within space, rocket scientist, to keep her on the same place she was already.

Right now I’m working on making her the Supersim Rosalie was supposed to become, but didn’t because I didn’t think too far and married her and had children. So my plan for Anna is to go through ALL the careers in order to unlock all the items but also to actually go through them all to know what it’s all about.

Eventually, on the way, she will also fill ALL the skills. She has currently succeeded in programming, gaming and gardening, and as we speak, she’s filling up on her violin skills. Since Excersice is her daily task, I’ll let her slowly improve in it while fixing the daily task. She’s also at nine as far as cooking goes, but that is also something she improves when cooking and watching TV when she’s bored.

She’s currently level 6 in her work as well, so it’s a progress but a pretty slow one since she only works every second day. Gaah. I wish it went a bit faster!
