I already linked to DT, but I’m just gonna post the Youtube video right here. The whole Carolus Show from Sabaton Open Air, for you to watch! This is the show I talked about a few days ago. Ahhh. This is epicness. Epicness.

Today has been quite interesting, in an unusual way! Toady me and Emelie got in the car and drove “all” the way to Örebro / Frövi to go trailriding on Icelandic horses.
The stable was the cutest ever, and we were greeted by the riding teacher. It was a fairly small stable, and the horses were the best. I got to ride a brown gelding called Frodi and Emelie got a dark gelding called Merkur. We were actually the only ones there for the ride, which I’m really glad for. We went on this two hour trailride that were all over the places, in the forest, over the streets, over the fields.
And it was beyond soothing. We tolted most of the time, you know that extra walk icelandic horses has?, and as soon as we hit the fields we just let the horses explode into the fastest canter I have ever ridden beneath us over the fields. It was all soothing and liberating in a way, like therapy. The horses was the most amazing as well, never before have I met horses who are so unafraid and reliable as these ones.
After the amazing ride we went to Subway to catch a bite before heading home. And for me, that meant heading over to our stable for yet another ridingsession. I had Donna, and as I was already very sore from riding for two hours earlier, I was a little glad we had a jumpclass today. I don’t really jump that much with horses, so most of the time I’d just sit and watch the others.
Now, my legs and arms are like jelly and my knee is a little squashed. But it was all worth it.
Thanks Emelie for sharing this experience with me!

Today has been a The Sims day. I’ve literally just spent almost all day with just playing The Sims 3 and slowly reading a book. It’s been somewhat calming, but it’s also been.. I don’t know, boring in a way? Right now The Sims 3 bores me to death, but perhaps that’s because I stay too long on things without doing much. Like, I say I’m not gonna start the diving shit until she’s got her five star hotels, and such.
However, I did a 160, and turned. I changed her job, so instead of being an investigator, she’s now a coastguard in lack of better things to do. She can easily live on her two hotels, but I like doing things. She’s only saved two lives so far, one being an old man, and the second one… a ghost. I didn’t realize ghosts could drown. But then again, the cause of death of the sim was drowning so I guess it was… an old habit, haha.
Anyway. My sim has picked up fishing and are snorkling as much as she can, but for some reason she refuses to do it for long. Anyone knows why this happens? Hm. I’ll just keep on pushing though, I really want to get on the… seas with her boat and dive into the deepest of oceans. And hopefully not get hit by Kraken.

Maybe I should give you a quick tour of her house. It’s currently in four floors.

This is the bottom floor. It serves as a living room as well as a recreational room, in a way. She has her sculpting thingy there and all.

This is the second floor, and it serves as a bedroom and a bathroom.

Third floor. This serves as a kitchen, as well as a balcony, that now has a grill and everything. I have also but the steeringwheel up here, to have it as high as possible.
I have added a fourth floor, that serves as a cosy room. It has a big fireplace, lots of bookshelves and wineshelves and is made only for her to sit in to read and have it nice and cozy. Sadly, I have no pics of it as of now, though.

My friends – I don’t want you to come up to me now and say “it wasn’t that great” or “Carolus isn’t that good of an era”. More people, and close friends, than you’d believe to this, and I’m asking you kindly right now – I don’t want your opinion. I don’t ask for it. I love this album, this era, it’s what I feel inside about it. You don’t have to like it – but you don’t need to come to ME and piss all over my feelings about it. Thanks.
I just finished watching the live-stream of Sabaton’s show at Sabaton Open Air last night. I was a bit bummed that I missed out on it while it was live, but as long as I get to see it – I don’t really care too much about it.
What I do care about, is that I probably missed out on the most epic Sabaton gig I’ve come across.
I’ve seen Sabaton many times throughout the years – all the way back to the Attero Dominatus era, and I’ve seen them live in every era, so far. The Art of War was something special, for sure, with Rockstad: Falun starting up for the first time, and then the album… We are not even gonna talk about the album, because in reality, we already have and you know my feelings about it.
However, Carolus Rex remains my favorite era. Perhaps I’m a bit patriotic – I do love my country and our culture (with that said, I do want to enhance that I like other cultures as well. Might as well put this here, as you are considered a racist in Sweden if you happen to like your own culture, haha). I got the double album, with both the Swedish and the English versions but I’ve always prefered the Swedish one – after all, it’s about Sweden.
As most of you know, at SOA this year they performed Carolus Rex in full, and in Swedish. Of course, I should have known I should have been there, but things collided. I can only take so many weekends off in a month in my job, and sorry to say, Skogsröjet and Sabaton’s shows here came before. So I’m glad this was recorded.
This gig was brilliant, the half of it that we were shown on the stream. I’ve always wished to hear Carolus full in Swedish, so I’m glad I got to do it. I literally cried my eyes out in both “En Livstid i Krig” (A Lifetime of War) and “Karolinens Bön” (The Carolean Prayer) and then, in the middle of the prayer (that I actually like to do as a prayer) I just stopped when I noticed what happened.
Caroleans. FUCKING CAROLEANS MARCHING ON STAGE. GODDAMN FUCKING CAROLEANS FOR THEATRIC EFFECTS.
Can I just cry and die right here? What?
As if THAT wasn’t enough, Jocke comes on stage wearing Carolus effin’ jacket to pull off one of the more epic performances of “Carolus Rex” I’ve ever witnessed. Like.
Can someone shoot me? Of all the fucking gigs I miss, why did I have to miss this one? I’d happily have traded Sabaton this Saturday in favor for this. Goddamn it. Sure, this may not have been the best Jocke has performed vocally, but still. Epic. And the ending, with the Caroleans lining up for “Ruina Imperii”… Oh my lord. This, this my friends. Epic. I’ll admit – I was a little bummed “Ruina” wasn’t actually live, but the Caroleans made up for it.
Another thing that makes me a bit sdbjaksdhka about the whole thing is that I somewhat missed out. Carolus is my favorite era, but because of circumstances, I sort of missed out on the whole tour. A tour that was supposed to be five dates ended up being one, and it feels weird in a way, to miss out on the best era.
Or perhaps, I just made sure to catch one, good show of the era. Like with Deadache and Lordi.
Regardless. Thanks DT for recording this gem. Thanks to Sabaton for writing this album. This was a good way to wrap up a VERY hard weekend with no sleep.
I am very aware that I might come off as a bit fangirlish in this, and that I’m probably not even written it as properly and thought-through as I usually DO write my blogentries about bands, but it’s 2 am and I have slept only 3 hours since 10am Saturday morning… So I’m tired. And in awe. And this is probably the way you should read this.
Sabaton can’t come sooner.

So today I FINALLY did something I had planned doing a long time, pre-ordering HammerFall’s newest album “(r)Evolution“. It’s just about 11 days left ’til it’s release, and that means it’s 13 days left to their releasegig at Liseberg which we are gonna go to, and combine it with a birthdaycelebration. I love celebrating my birthday at Liseberg, so it colliding with HammerFall is really more perfect than anything.
I’m starting to get really pumped for the gig, and I think I live a bit a head of time as I seem to overlook the fact that it’s no more than A WEEK left until I see the panzer battalion again. God, I’ve missed this band sooo much. I’m a bit gutted I won’t be seeing their live-screen of their Rockstad gig, but I hope I can catch up on it tomorrow instead.
So yes. HammerFall. Sabaton. Amaranthe. Good things awaiting in the future, so with that said, I’ll give you two old shots of HammerFall and Sabaton.

Both of these pictures are shot back in 2007 (!!) at the Peace&Love festival. It was the first festival I ever attended, actually. And I still have the wristband on my arm. Can’t believe it’s been seven years since these shots were taken, and how much has changed since then!
They are ripped directly from my old gallery at my old website, hence the quality and the watermark. Time sure passes by sometimes… And it runs away. Need to get ready for work! See you later, people!

You know, I don’t use Spotify a whole lot. I have an account, sure, and I’ve made playlists – mainly to remember the bands I caught up on when browsing the thing. There are two main things I use Spotify for:
1) Getting myself into bands prior to a show if I because of reasons can’t get their albums at the moment (for instance, if I can’t get the CD’s in time or if I’ve been stupid enough to put their CD’s on a wishlist so I have to wait and see if they’ll be given or not, so I don’t end up with doubles)
However, I never actually listens to album of bands if there isn’t a concert around the corner. Like, right now I’m blasting the hell out of Amaranthe (which I’ll see live next week), but I’m not touching SlipKnot for more than three songs or so, that’ll wait until I get the hands of the albums (and here we have the situation where I put them on a wishlist somewhere, so I have to wait and see for now)
2) To find new music.
Number two is something I do more often than not. You probably remember I told you about One Man Army band? Yeah, that’s one of those bands I found thanks to randomly browsing the site. Most of the times it happens by accident. Like, I was looking up this one song I love tremendously from a musical I love tremendously, and ended up on a band called The Deal instead of the song The Deal(No Deal).
Or today – I was randomly listening to the song “Snuff” by SlipKnot, and since I had looked up the song specifically (to not ruin the album for me, huhu) and it continued down to the next song called “Snuff”. My first idea was to stop it and go back to the previous one, as I always do when I listen to random songs, but then I listened a little closer and realized I recognized this. That it sounded A LOT like Slipknot’s. I decided to take a look and this is what I found.
Snuff – Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star. Album: Lullaby Versions of Slipknot
Like. What. LIKE WHAT.
LIKE THIS IS FUCKING BRILLIANT. This morning I had just thought to myself that I need to stop listen to music before going to sleep (as it pumps me up) and instead go back to putting together a playlist for good nights sleep, and to look for good songs for that, and then THIS FUCKING ALBUM COMES MY WAY AND I’M LIKE LITERALLY RUNNING RIGHT OVER TO AMAZON TO BUY THIS PIECE OF PERFECTION.
BECAUSE AS YOU CAN SEE, IT’S NOT ONLY SNUFF IT’S LIKE ALSO “WAIT AND BLEED” AND “(SIC)” AND “PSYCHOSOCIAL” AND “SPIT IT OUT” AND THE REST OF THE SONGS AND I’M LIKE DYING LIKE THIS IS PERFECT I WAS SQUEALING WHEN I SAW THIS.
Of course, I had to see what this Twinkle Twinkle thing was, and I’m not sure if that was the biggest mistake I did, or if it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. Because it didn’t stop at SlipKnot.
They have everything. EVERYTHING. They even had this 80’s Hair Metal CD that even featured Slaughter (Fly to the Angels), they had Disney classics CD, they had the entire FROZEN CD – ALL MADE INTO LULLABYS! Fall Out Boy, Madonna, Metallica, Green Day, I’m not even going to mention all the CD’s right here right now, but they had SHITLOADS. AND I WAS JUST SQEUALING LOUDER AND LOUDER THE MORE I SCROLLED DOWN OH MY FUCKING LORD BY ODIN’S BEARD.
So if you need good sleeping music – Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star is your friend. Sadly, they only do their songs digital, so Amazon is your friend.
Isn’t it amazing what listening to ONE song can lead to?

While cleaning today I came across this old piece:

I actually had to check my photo with Lordi from 2006 to see when I got this, and yes, I got this already back in 2006. I thought it was later, but appears not. I got it at Oxhälja, a market we have here close to where I live.
This brings back a lot of memories, not specific ones, but it just brings back all those memories, you know, from back in the day when you were a fangirl. Not a crazy, screaming obsessed one, but you know, that kind of fangirl when everything your band, or that bandmember did, mattered so much. Or you know, when you met up with other people who loved that specific member and you’d just sit there and discuss how awesome or not awesome s/he was, how you’d admire the ground s/he walked up on and so on.
Sure, I have my favorite members in some of my bands today as well – it all depends a bit on how close I get to the band, but in my bigger ones as Lordi, Steel Panther, Wig Wam, The Poodles and even SlipKnot, I have them.
But it’s not the same. I’m not running around with bracelets that says Lexxi Foxxx, hell, he’s barely featured at all here at home. I don’t meet up with Lexxi, yes LEXXI, fans only to discuss how great his hair is. Sure, once in a while I come across a Lexxifangirl, but it’s still not the same.
And I miss that. I miss that thing where you cared you know. I have two Kita shirts nailed to my wall, next to Frozen poster and concerttickets, sort of in the middle. It’s a signed Faceshirt alongside the logoshirt, and around them, are photographs, large and normal sized ones and postcards of Kita, and I even wrote out “Sweet Killing Machine” with it and his japanese symbols.
But that was then. And I’m glad I cared long enough to do that, because it warms my heart. To see it, and remember how much he meant, and he still means. It remembers me of the time when I’d sit with Axa and Maddy until the break of dawn and just discuss how awesome Kita was. And it remembers me of the time when he and Lordi was all that mattered.
How do I go back to that?

Today I finally did something I’ve been planning to do for a long time – redecorating a bit in my room, or to be more precise, move the contents of my Lordi shelf to a bigger one, as the collection started to outgrow the old shelf (the old one was 33x33x33 so…)
I’ve had all the contents such as books, shirts, flags, shirts, DVD’s, shirts and other shenanigans lying on a chair ever since we got home from Savonlinna and today was the day I at last snapped and figured I had to get rid of it because it was in the effin way.
It wasn’t too easy though, as I had to clean out the shelf I had planned. It was filled with ALL the different kind of crap you can imagine, and once I had actually cleaned it out, I realized I might just as well clean off the Frozen and Eurovision shelf (which are on top of the now Lordi shelf) or else I’ll just get all the Lordi stuff full of dust when I clean that off later. Said and done, and a million hours and ALL Amaranthe albums and singles later, I’m finally done with this.
BEFORE:

AFTER:

For those who wonder: In the white package, there are three more Lordishirts that are for now a little too new to be mixed with the other shirts, and the scary paper cat is a souvenir from Lichtenfels, the gig we went to in 2011. Only the people with us on the trip will understand it, haha.
Where did all the other crap go? Well, some of it (like the Digimon cards and the ghost) went on to share the shelf with Frozen and Eurovision, right in between, in front of the Sweden Rock Winebottle, most of it went to the shelf next door where I miraculosuly managed to squeeze everything in.
And some of it, such as the GameBoy games, actually moved on to the old Lordishelf, allowing me to have a small gamers corner. Finally I know where to put all my GameBoy games, wii games, playstation 1 games AND my Disney Infinity characters! A fair trade, I must say!
Speaking of Disney Infinty… Must. Get. Phineas. Perry. Dipper. Mabel. Mwaaa!

Ahh. I love finding new music like this. Was just simply searching for “The Deal”, the song from Chess, and ended up on an old band called The Deal. Amazing stuff right there. This is the best way to find new bands, I tell you. I can’t stop listening to this.
Anyways, today I went downtown to pick up another birthday gift, a little late. The long wanted Sabaton ticket! Just in time really, the concert is next week, haha! Can’t tell you enough how pumped I am for this. Haven’t seen Sabaton in what feels like ages (And it might be, too lazy to check how long it’s actually been) and then they are supported by Amaranthe. It’s close to a dream line up!

Anyhow. Off to bed. Tomorrow will be a day of purchasing new courselitterature. I’ve decided to leave everything called job applications and once and for all get done with school, starting with this new program. I’m soooo excited for this, you have no idea!

Literally, this time! Or well, alright, we didn’t actually die, but most of our stuff did!
As I had my birthday yesterday, we decided to celebrate it small time this time around, with a picnic in one of the city parks. Started off by picking up Jonny and Jennie at their place before meeting up with Michelle at the park, where we set up our little small Skogsröjet table and quickly filled it with all the kinds of food and treats we had brought with us. We had decided beforehand that everybody brings something to the table for everybody to share in one way or another, so we basically ended up with a smaller buffet of different things, LOVE IT!
Martina soon joined us and made the buffet even bigger. We started munching right away followed by loads and loads of laughter.

Later on we were joined by Anna and Thomas, and they made it pretty much in time for… the rain. The weather had been a bit unstable all through the day – a little rainy, but also a lot of sun. We figured we’d take the risk and just go with it, and if it becomes unbearable we’d just leave. But then again, we are all vikings who has been to festivals a lot, so unlike the title, a little rain won’t kill us. At least not this little rain.

And you know, we had a pretty cozy time under the umbrellas!
Well, what can you say. It was a fun night, filled with laughter, feeding the ducks that ran around… one in particular was really brave and hang around us all the time, she even ate out of my hand! Lovely duck. We wrapped up the night by playing a music-game called Så Det Kan Låta before packing up all our soaked things into Michelle’s car and headed home.
Thanks to Jennie, Jonny, Martina, Anna, Michelle and Thomas for making this night great! Love you guys!
