For The First Time In Forever

Posted in Uncategorized on May 9, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

As some of you might now, I spent the weekend at Sofia’s house, and we had a blast to say the least! We took it very easily and simple, took walks around the town, stayed in bed talking about everything and nothing, watching television, talking about summerplans and what not.

It’s nice you know. Sofia and I don’t see each other that often unless it’s at a festival, only usually once a year, AND USUALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER, so it was actually rather nice to see her in spring time, when we, you know, could be outside a bit and not just stare at a wall.

There isn’t much more to say about this, more than that I had an amazing weekend, and I can’t wait to see her again some time soon.

Phineas and Ferb: Last Day of Summer

Posted in Phineas&Ferb, Uncategorized on May 8, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

So basically, yesterday I learned some real bad news.

After 8 years, and four seasons, Phineas and Ferb are coming to end. This summer, to be more exact, in June, the very last episode “Last Day of Summer” will air. I’m not really sure what to do with all of this.

Phineas and Ferb is what changed my life you know? Phineas and Ferb, how stupid it may sound, are the ones who gave me courage. Who made me realize that if I only believe, I can do it. This show, this childrens show about a dorito-head and his silent brother, changed my entire view on life. Instead of looking at things as impossible, I just look at it like “Let’s give it a shot”. Oy vey, so many things that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for this show.

All good things comes to an end I guess, but it’s hard to comprehend. And I’ll miss getting new episodes.

“The only thing impossible, is impossibility itself” – Phineas

Single Ladies

So we woke up very late. As usual. I’m not even surprised anymore, you know? That we can’t get our shit together in time. So, after a bit of “bleh” we finally got up, got out and cleared out the entire storage, so my mum finally can put in the new floor, and once it’s done we can turn it into a… well, where we build things.

On our way home, we had quite a few interesting encounters. First of all, we got a craving for soda, and just as we thought of turning around, we saw signs for a store, and we just yelled STORE! STORE! STORE! So we took a little ride through Sunnemo to grab coke and ice cream before continuing home.

And the next thing we know, we meet 14. __14__ Military vehicles.  14! And longer down the road we saw some soldiers armed with guns. Needless to say, we got scared as hell.

Isn’t it fun, how here in Sweden we flinch a bit when we see a gun, when in America like everyone has one?

Get Busy

Posted in Uncategorized on May 6, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Spent the whole day, more or less, at the cottage preparing for summer. We’ve managed to fill all the availible leaf bags gladly, as well as clear out a section of the storage. Finally some progress are being made!

However, there are still a lot to be made. Such as raking all the lawn. The rest of it, I mean. Take away a lot of the growth all over the place, and PERHAPS REMOVE ALL THE BOXES.

But hopefully, this will happen in a few weeks.

Woohoo!

Hold My Hand

Posted in Uncategorized on May 5, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

One month from now I’ll be at Sweden Rock Festival. I’ll be at the worlds best place, with like-minded people, days filled of metal shopping, the finest fast food, sun (hopefully) and most importantly, a lot, A LOT of fantastic music from stages all over.

I can’t wait to get back there. Seriously, time is moving SO SLOWLY right now, because of this. God. I can’t wait to get back. I’ve already started to put together my playlist. Thursday and Friday are pretty much full by now, so I really only need spots to fill for Saturday, unless I do my mandatory CD shopping that day.

Because that’s what I love most about Sweden Rock, aside all the amazing bands. All, ALL the little tents with recordshops in them. I usually try to save a lot of money for shopping, and not to get drinks or necklaces or stuff (even though that’s nice too) but to get CD’s and albums. I prefer buying things in real life, and even better so with these stores, since they usually have the things you don’t find anywhere else.

I think I might have to write down my list of CDs-To-Buy before I go down, so I know what to focus on getting. Not that I actually ever get what I plan to get. I’ll probably end up going home with the Heroes special edition (if they have it) H.E.A.T’s live CD and a few bands I never heard of.

That’s also a thing I do. At least ONE of the CD’s I bring home from the festival has to be with a band that is completely unknown to me. Russian Roulette if you want, but I like it. Who knows what band it will be this time?

Gravity Falls Challenge Day 16: Favorite TV Program

Posted in 20 Days Gravity Falls Challenge, Gravity Falls, Uncategorized on May 4, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Oh wow. Favorite TV show… Well, I must say Duck-tective.

It’s a duck, that is a detective. What else can you actually ask for? The TV show was featured in seven episodes so far, I’m not sure if I’m familiar with all, since some of them seem to be Seasons 2, but the first appearance was in “Headhunters”, who aslo, so conveniently, happened to be my first Gravity Falls episode ever. And that freaked me out. You know, looking for normal headless waxfigures…

I’m a Believer

Posted in Uncategorized on May 3, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

It’s been a good day, albeit very long. I quit my job around three this morning, went to bed and got up about three hours later heading over to my job at the stables. It had been bad weather all week, raining and what not so I was really, REALLY worried we’d get bad weather today as well.

So, understand my surprise, and delight, when I arrive at the stables and the sun is shining and it’s all warm and nice and not a cloud in sight. Because of this, we might have had one of the best work days this semester. We even had our breakfast at the hay-attic or whatever you wanna call it. Sweet as hell, I tell you.

Even though it’s a lot of work, there is nothing I love more than working in the stable. It’s a physical job where you have to do a lot, move a lot but you don’t need to think too much. It all goes on routine. And you are outside a lot. I like that. And you are away from everything computers, everything music, everything else that stresses you. And that’s what I love so much about being in the stable.

It’s soothing.

The Sims Challenge Day 2: Did you start out with The Sims?

Posted in 30 Day The Sims Challenge, The Sims on May 2, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

The full question is:

“Did you start out with The Sims or did you get The Sims 2 first? Do you have Sims 3? Why/why not?”

And yes. I started out with The Sims. I was given The Sims and the expansion pack “Livin’ It Up” by my mother about 15 years ago now, and I’ve basically played it ever since.

Do I have The Sims 3? Can birds fly? Of course I have The Sims 3, and The Sims 4 for that matter too. (I’m noticing the questions are a bit outdated)

Why? Well, The Sims is a big part of my life, or you know, it’s a huge interest for me, so to NOT have all the games just.. it’s like NOT having the complete discography of a band you claim to be your favorite, and not because the CD’s are sold out but because you are lazy. I can’t just go there and be like “Nah man, no The Sims 3”. I need to try it of course.

However, so far, The Sims 3 is the one where I have the most expansionpacks UNINSTALLED. For The Sims, I have all in. For The Sims 2, I’ve taken away Seasons and Bon Voyage. Not because I don’t like either of them – especially Bon Voyage, but it was running so slow, that I never actually used it. And I didn’t see the point to have it, if I didn’t use it. Seasons annoyed me with the weather after a while.

For The Sims 3, I have Fast Lane, Pets, Diesel and Supernatural uninstalled. The first three are uninstalled mainly because I currently host The Sims 3 on my laptop, and figured I’d take away the expansions I found unnecessary to keep some space. Pets… I love the horses, but if I’m not ACTUALLY playing a horses family, it’s just annoying having the animals run around all over.

Supernatural… is an expansion that I’ll probably never install again. I played it for a while, with my Sim Katie who was a witch… And considering that, despite turning off the moon cycle, I would have the entire neighbourhood to zombies… kinda made it boring you know? So it’s gone. And will be so.

I don’t have Movie stuff nor Into The Future installed as well, but that’s not because they are annoying in anyway, it’s because I wanna be “done” with Island Paradise before I get started.

H- Best Guitarist of a band in your opinion

Posted in A-Z Music, Music on May 1, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

This is basically my worst nightmare, sitting here and judging musicians. Mostly because 1) I have no clue, so I can’t properly judge how good or not they are, because I can’t even hold a guitar and 2) no matter what I say, there are always going to be people who disagree and hates you for your choice. Gladly, in the metal world, we don’t throw fist fights about it.

Good.

Anyway, for my decision of Best Guitarist, I’m gonna go with my first favorite bandmember ever, as he was the first person to ever impress me when it came to guitarplaying. Like I said about Mark Slaugher, he may not be the worlds best vocalist, but he’s my favorite.

I’m of course talking about Trond “Teeny” Holter.

full-2

Trond has played guitar in several bands – Dream Police, Wig Wam and currently Dracula’s Swing of Death, to name a few. I discovered him through Wig Wam, as the picture might let you know.

Anyway. I think he’s good. Very so good. I believe he is the only guitarists whose guitarsolos I actually enjoy. It’s usually a big peeve for me when bands put on multiple instrumental songs on their albums, like, I get the idea but why? However, that has never been the case with Teeny. Most especially, I can listen to “The Riddle” all day long. Not sure if it is because Teeny is precious, or because he’s damn good, but either way, it gets to me.

So yes. There you have it guys. Trond Holter. Always and forever. I guess I’ll just let you all judge yourself. This video contains a solo followed by The Riddle.

Uptown Funk

Posted in Uncategorized on April 30, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

We woke up around noon to a decently heated living room. Of course, it had gone down quite the bit since we had to put out ALL the candles… but it was still warm! Since the weather was utter shit, we spent the morning playing Monoploy and eating roasted bread. And doing some additional planning.

I can’t wait until we can start making proper changes and plans to this house. It’s going to be pretty awesome, spending a week there this summer with all your loved ones (I assume?!).

But you know. Still a long way to go. We filled two bags of leaves, and still it didn’t look like we did any sort of progress. I guess we will see how it goes!
