Everytime

Posted in Uncategorized on March 8, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Seriously, this day has been so long. But it has also rushed past me. Like I told you, if I ever did, I’m getting sick again. And this time it’s a “bad” one, so to put it. My skin is starting to hurt and all that crap, which feels AWESOME since I had planned to finally be back to school this week, but I guess not. When working at the nightclub, I managed to smash right into a wall, so I have a nice bump and a cute bruise on my forehead, and whenever I move my face my head hurts. Unlucky me, right?

On top of this, there are still a million things to do. In preparations. I had planned this night to write lists, and then go to bed earlier because of my lack of sleep due to the combination, but of course this failed. Instead I’m sitting here trying to sing Britney Spears songs, but all I sound like is a dying duck.

But I had a good time at the stables, at least. It hasn’t been since the days with Emelie that I laughed so much while working, and even so, the biggest mystery is how Cobweb didn’t get out of his blanket once, but TWICE without breaking it. It should be physically impossible, but he managed somehow. Deloy also took of his blanket. Is this a sign spring is coming? When the horses starts saying “TAKE IT OFF!!”. Ah, who knows?

I need to go to bed, or should have done so four hours ago. I’m up because I can’t decide if I should do S or M on a dress. Normally I’d do M, but, probably due to stress, I’ve lost A LOT of weight and M clothes are starting to be too big. Not sure how I feel about it, since it means my body is trying to tell me something, but what do you do?

So the question is still the same. S or M?

Hm.

Scary-Oke

Posted in Gravity Falls, Uncategorized with tags on March 7, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

*** Spoiler alter ***

Today was the day for a new premiere of Gravity Falls here in Sweden, and today it was “Scary-Oke”, ironically, since this is actually the first episode of this season. Would have been good if they actually got the episodes in the right order you know…

Anyway. So, basically, what happens is that they have a re-launch of the Mystery Shack after finally imprisoning Gideon, and they start that off with a special day at the Shack and wrapping it up with a party. In the middle of the re-opening, a couple of agents shows up because of unusual paranormal activity (caused by Stan). Of course he denies, but Dipper calls them up anyway and to make a long story short, he manages to awaken the dead. After running around for a while and having Soos turned into a zombie, Stan comes to rescue and admits to the twins that he is well aware of the paranormal shit going on, and then, by singing together as a family, they managed to kill all the zombies.

Well, what can I say? THIS SEASON IS INTENSE. I LOVE this episode, especially since we finally are starting to get closer to finding out things about Gravity Falls. The revelation by Stan is a HUGE step on the  way, and seeing inside his cabinet is just amazing.

I’m a little surprised as to how, obscene the season is getting. For being a Disney series, it’s getting creepier and creepier. Zombies with eyes hanging out of the head? What a step!

I can’t wait for the next episode. Bring it on!

Brackish

The Spain preparations continue on as if there was no tomorrow! I’m starting to feel a bit stressed over it, despite it being a little over a week left before we leave. I’m not sure why, though.

Maybe because I work night both Friday and Saturday this week + stable work on Sunday. I always get a fever after working in the stable because of not enough sleep and the hay (apparently I’m sensitive to it). And not only that, but this means ALL of Sunday goes away – I’m usually TOO wiped out to do anything but to DIE when I come home from the stables. Maybe it is because Michelle still doesn’t have any luggage on her airplane ticket.

And then I have school on Monday. Which means I leave home at 10ish, and would NORMALLY come home around 18/19, but since I’ll stick around by Michelle’s for some preparations I’ll be home by 21 – 22 instead. And then on Wednesday I go to school again 10 – 18/19, and then I work night Thursday-Saturday. And did I hear something about an exam on Friday? I stop work 01.30 night to Sunday, and the train leaves at 7 for Belgium. This will be fun.

And on top of this, we need to finish our shit before we go, which will be on Tuesday. We decided to do it already on Tuesday to give us a few days to fix in case we forgot or mess up something. Imagine doing all the last things on Saturday… Ooops.

I’ve challenged myself as well as Michelle to finish packing already during the week, preferably already before Friday. To avoid drama. Because there is always drama, because of my little pre-concert depression. It’s so odd, why do I even get a PRE concert depression? Maybe it’s because time. Time moves too fast. Uh, I don’t know.

At least I picked up a new suitcase today. It’s epic. Literally, it’s from the brand Epic. But it IS epic too.

I love it. And the interior of the case WILL make it a lot easier while away. Ohh I can’t wait.

Ett Andetag

Today has been a long day. Started off at the dentist office and after that it was time to meet up with le Platypus Michelle for some pre-Spain preparations. Because of the strike, it’s a little hard to focus, but we have done our best to keep it together. We spent A LOT of time in a second hand shop putting together the last details for our little… special thing and even left with a belt and a Sweden Rock magazine, aside the items we were looking for.

A dinner at Subway happened while mapping out and planning what to do with all the preparations and before we knew it it was closing time so we had to rush around to all the stores, mainly trying out shoes. We need to find some good shit, and it’s harder than one would think! Or well, this is because Michelle decided to have monster feet, size 42 (eu size) which makes everything more complicated, haha. No, don’t worry, I don’t mind her feet.

One million pair of shoes later we decided to part ways and continue the planning over Skype instead. Like I said, it’s hard to focus with all the flight-shit going on, but what can you do? Must push through it, else we’ll just end up regretting it.

Tomorrow I need to look for a suitcase. This trip is going to be intense – not only do I need to figure out what to wear/bring for Amaranthe, but for FOUR DAYS in Spain, one Steel Panther show and one Katy Perry show. What do you even wear to Katy Parry? A bag of candy?

Well well. Sleep will be needed.

Woman Crush Wednesday: Janet Gardner

Posted in Music, Uncategorized with tags , , , on March 4, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Alright. Again I struggle to find things to write, thus, we’re making this a woman crush wednesday, much like a music crush. First out in line is Vixen’s singer Janet Gardner.

So, like I said. Vocalist in Vixen, a band she joined back in 1983 and has been in ever since except from a break in 2001-2012. It has been a little on and off with how Vixen worked out – break ups, reunions, namechanges, reunions, break ups… But what’s a band without a little drama, huh?

Without getting too… obvious, what I love about Janet is her voice. She doesn’t have this polished “typical” kind of pop voice, but rather a stronger one with a lot of force. While I love polished voices (like Elize’s for instance) there is something quite special about her, and this band in general. And her voice fits so damn well to the music, to the style, to the whole thing. You know when bands just have the EXACT right singer? Yeah, right here.

Of course, I tried to avoid it a little, but I guess I need to put it here too: Janet is pretty much my number one source of inspiration when it comes to physical appearances. Seriously, this girls style beats everyone else. Fucking love it. This is basically the one rockstar, along with her bandmates, that I’d have pictures of in my closet for lookbooks. Seriously. haveyouseenher?

I often speak about how bands are so perfect and things, and I’m going to say it once again. Vixen is pretty much perfect in every essence there are. Musically, visually, persona… Just perfect. My kind of thing.

Hero’s Return

Posted in Uncategorized on March 3, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Well, I guess you can call this quite an interesting day.

As some of you might now, Norwegian is going on a strike/walkout whatever, and it’s being threatened to even bankrupt the daughter-company which flies in Scandinavia. This, my friends, will affect our Madrid trip HEAVILY.

Thing is, I LOVE Norwegian. I’ve told you that soo many times. It’s almost like we’re a married couple, Norwegian and I. Loved them through good times and bad times, for better and for worse, cursed through delays and smiled big when we arrive too early. They have brought me to good places. I guess shit happens, but BAD TIMING.

Gladly, we found out about the strike soon or late enough to put Michelle on an Iberia flight DOWN to Madrid, so the worst thing that’ll happen is that we get stuck in Madrid, which will suck, because I waited six years to see Katy Perry, haha.

But yeah. So first I basically spent 40 mins listening to jazzmusic before talking to  Norwegian’s support regarding the flights, and once that was done, and I finished off booking my Belgium sidetrip, I was about to book Michelle’s ticket to Madrid from Stockholm, and of course, this managed to screw up. So then I was on it again, with calling support for an airline. This time they played sweet Spanish music, which was nice, it made me remember we are GOING TO SPAIN and it made me happy. And the worker at Iberia WAS REALLY helpful and amazing, I literally fell in love with her on the spot.

Most things should be fixed by now. Michelle doesn’t have any checked in luggage as of now, but we’ll take care of that later. Call me lazy, but this feels like a long day. Never before have I had so much trouble booking flights, but I guess this is what happens when you try putting together a ONE WEEK Trip to four different countries and you and your company are traveling from different destinations.

I have spent the rest of the evening writing all the expenses down in my little holy concert-expenses book to keep track on everything. It almost feels like I’m running a freaking business here. But thankfully, HammerFall is keeping my company.

I have to book my hotel in Belgium, and also my flighttransfer to Bromma Airport here in Sweden. Once that is done, It’s fucking done. It’s been a NIGHTMARE booking this trip, NEVER think anything else. I love booking trips, because it entertains my brain, but seriously, most of the times it’s just one big nightmare of departures, concerttickets, hotels, distances, maps, transfers…. But that’s what we do for them. Always and forever.

Infinity

So, since we had to cover the little incident with Simon Cruz I never got the oppurtunity to tell you about some of my aquirements from a few days ago! It’s not much really, but it’s worth a shot! First of all, I got myself a pink top. I wasn’t too sure about how I felt about it, BUT with a few adjustments – changing the straps into a racer back by attaching a little ring and a feather for decoration, it improved A LOT. I can’t wait to debut it in Spain!

BUT the most important thing wasn’t that, but this little precious:

DSC00487

“Crimson Thunder” by HammerFall. With that, I now OFFICIALLY own every single HammerFall album. It only took me about… eight years… to get them all. Haha, isn’t it fun how priorities work sometimes? I realized after I already imported the photos that I forgot to take a picture of my second findings, which was the “One More Time” single by HammerFall. I’m not too keen about singles all the time, but I noticed they had a version of “Bloodbound” with a co-female singer, which caught my interest. And I liked it, like A LOT!

With all of this being said, I’m now hitting bed. Spain is happening in about two weeks, and it’s nervwrecking! Aaah!

Crimson Thunder

Now, this will be about the third place I mention this, but while working today they had this huge re-launch (which was awesome! What a party!) and what caught my attention the most was the circus and variété artists. Sorry, I don’t really know what the last word technically is in English, but maybe you get it. There were everything from ringmasters to fireeaters to clowns to mims casually walking, dancing, running around the place. Having them goof around all over really made my think back of my younger days.

My younger days in the circus.

I think that is one of the things that really NO person knows of. That I’ve been in circus-school, or whatever you wanna call it. I remember I was trained as a clown, which is hysterical because of my fear for clowns, but I did LOVE IT. The circus culture and everything that is circus, much like I mentioned about pirates, is one of my favorite things. The music, the style, the lifestyle, the whole thing.

Watching them goof around and even having a mim come to my table to fake play really made me start to reconsider a thing or two. That you know, maybe, together with the other few things I’m planning, it might be time to get back to the roots.

Sacrimony

Posted in Uncategorized on February 27, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

This day started off fairly slow, because of work last night “I went to bed too late and got up to soon” since I’m working in the stables tomorrow for the first time in forever, in a pathetic attempt to get the hour-cycle back to normal. I had no hopes, but we’ll see.

However, to have SOMETHING exciting to write about, I had dinner over at Emelie’s. We went to the store to pick up ingredients and then we made our own pizza. Half of it was a paprica/tomatosauce/mozzarella pizza (hers) and mine was paprica/tomatosauce/mushrooms and shrimps. Tasty as fuck, I might add.

The evening was cool. Lots of talking, laughing, catching up and good food and candy. And of course loudly singing my interpretation of the “This is the tale of Kanye West” song. And I don’t think I have ever used the “You got this Travis!” quote as many times as tonight. Oh well.

Fun night is fun, with chance of exaggeration (no you can’t, not with Emelie) and it has to be done soon again. But now, sleep, stable, casino.

Sweet.

Cocaine Cowboys

Wow, so okay. Sofia hit me up on Facebook chat today with some REAL bad news.

Simon Cruz has left Crashdïet.

First of all, when I read it my eyes almost popped out of my head and I gasped PRETTY loudly. I REALLY, REALLY liked Simon in the band, perhaps not as much as I did Kita, but enough to feel my heart sink. But the more I continued on reading, and the more I’ve thought about it, the whole thing seems absurd. So, this is the message that Crashdïet left:

Dear crashdiet fans

There is a reason for our lack of news lateley. The reason for that is that Simon Cruz has left CRASHDÏET. Well, actually he decided to leave in the midst of our mini tour in Japan… With no notice what so ever.
The last few months have been confusing to say the least and we haven’t been sure of what to make of this… other than that our collaboration with Simon is over.

However… The recording of the new album will proceed as planned and you can expect hear more from us soon!

Yours truly
Martin, Peter and Eric” (Press the statement for source)

So, basically, what we have here, is a Fatal Smile 2.0, but without the bitter consequences of having the band disbanded. And you know, of course, we have yet to hear (if we ever will) Simon’s version of it all, but this smells like a rotten cat you know? Leaving the middle of a tour? Without notice? Sounds quite weird and selfish, but I shan’t be too hard already now.

The only thing I DO know, is that the whole situation sucks HARD, both for the band with all the fuck ups that was caused because of this, but also to the fans who lost a pretty good singers. And also for the band, for losing their THIRD singer. At least this one lasted for two albums instead of one, but still.

Thanks for those years though, Simon. Thank you.
