Last night was sooo much fun! We had been invited to a VIP night at Boda Borg in celebration of them hitting 5000 likes, and it was just soo much fun! Boda Borg is naturally always fun, but it was something last night that just made it extra special.

For this time, it was me, Michelle and Linda that went together and already when we got there the whole giggling kind of started. You know, being there when they are normally closed, having your name crossed of a FREAKING GUESTLIST! and have numbered stampcards and everything. At first we had a small gathering in the hall where they informed us about all the contest that would run throughout the night – first to complete 3 quests of every color would get an extra lottery ticket, finding the skull, first to complete 6 of each and so on. After that, they opened the adventure house.

We started off the whole night with Explosionsrisk, and failed miserably, which is a first. Second of all, we were gonna head for The Jungle, and we did so. Unlike last time I was there, I actually NAILED the snake room, so we were so close to winning until I decided it was a good idea to try out a little shortcut in the last room. Instead of doing the arm walk, I thought I could jump to the… eh,thingys you go onto after the armwalk. So I leaped.

And fell. HARD. I hit my lower leg on a steel-chain-kind of thing and messed that up completely. Ten minutes in on the day. GOOD FUCKING JOB SARA!

Anyway, the night went on and we had a blast. We tried out the new quest “All Hands on Deck” and it was… great. Lets just leave it there, haha. However, for a normal Boda Borg session it didn’t really go all too well as it normally does. I blame it on me completely, for screwing up my leg the first thing I did (my strong leg too, at that!)

BUT! In the midst of chasing a new quest to conquer, Michelle found it. The Skull. FUCKING BAD ASS! Got us an extra set of lottery tickets.

By 10pm it was time for yet another gathering, to draw the lottery winners and announcing a few new contest, that I actually plan on entering. Won’t tell you about it here, since it was for the people there, but it’s fun as hell! We didn’t win anything in the lottery, sadly, but you know! Epic night is still epic.

We did a few last attempts at Alcatraz (and failed?!) before we decided to hit downstairs and have an ice-slush. Well deserved, if I may say so!

This was great night. Thanks both Michelle, Linda and BODA BORG for this fabolous night! I hope they do something similar again real soon.

You know when you’ve loved a song for a really long time, perhaps grown up with it. And you love it so much and you know all the words, and you sing and then you talk to people about it and then you realize that the song wasn’t originally made by that particular artist.

Am I the only one who kinda feel your life is a lie when this happens?

Like, “I Want Candy”. I thought Aaron Carter was ACTUALLY the guy behind the song, NOPETY NOPE! Apparently not.

I found out today that the song I posted a few days ago for the song challenge, “Anyone of Us” wasn’t made originally by Mathias Holmgren at all. I assumed it was, since it was on Swedish and everything. But appears Gareth Gates made it. What the hell. I’ve spent the last ten – fifteen minutes staring at the wall because I’m just so fucking done with everything.

My childhood is a lie. Goddamnit.

Annika performed the Swedish version of “Let it Go” at Allsång på Skansen yesterday, and I just saw the rerun again today. And I’m just sitting here and crying, because this is flippin perfection. She is perfection. That voice, THAT VOICE people.

Listen to it, and watch it. This amazing woman, I’m just saying…

I realize now we are already half through July, and I haven’t even managed to get done half of all I planned. Why are time racing away, is it because I work nighttime nowadays? Or what the hell is going on?

I was accepted into uni, by the way. I chose the two courses closest to heart, and I’m more than stoked to start these this fall. I’m not gonna go into detail in what it is, I might tell you later once I start. But yes, for now I’m just insanely happy.

I really just wanted to pop in and tell you guys I’m alive. And stressed. And stoked for Röjet, and some other sweet plans.

And Annika Herlitz was on Allsång på Skansen toady. Today was a good day.

I finally mustered up all the guts I had to actually try out something I wanted for a very long time. A fringe top. I decided to kill an old and cheap fake Lordi shirt I had, because if it would fail, I wouldn’t have wasted, and if it was a success, then I would have something to actually wear! I stopped wearing this shirt YEARS ago because I sorta outgrew it, but yeah. Time to fix it!

I decided to do it outside, so I went out with SlipKnot on the ipod, a glass of soda and a scissor and began the massacre.

This was to be killed. And beneath, is the result.

I’m pretty pleased with it I must say! I might do some final cuts on the lower part of the shirt, and I MIGHT get rid of the arms, but yeah, so far, so pleased!

You know. In three weeks from now, Michelle and I will have landed at Skogsröjet, sat up our tents and probably talking loads of crap about bands and music and whatnot. And listening to music. And record stuff. And have a great time. I need to remember to sit down and listen through all the artists to make sure I’m not missing out on anything I’d want to see.

I’m looking forward going back to Skogsröjet. This will be the fourth year in a row I’m attending the festival, and it’s grown to become one of my favorite festivals, and so far, it’s also the one festival I’ve been most consistent in going to. I think I’ll keep that a tradition. To always go to it. As far as it’s possible, of course. But we’re gonna keep it that way, right? Of course we are.

Last year we had Lordi playing. I still can’t wrap my head around that. It’s too surreal. And this year, we have Steel Panther. My two BIG favebands the years after each other. And Crashdiet. And Alestorm. Dream Evil. Michael Monroe.

BUT NO DAMN FATAL SMILE. You should hear how loud and how OFTEN Michelle and I actually rage about this. Fatal Smile was really one of the bands we really, REALLY looked forward to see. But NOPE. That just couldn’t happen. Damn.

Oh well.

Okay, So I’m going to talk a little bit about mash-ups. You know, when you take one song and mash it up with another one and you sort of get a new song? Sometimes it’s shit, sometimes, it’s fucking incredible. I came across one today that I just like… I don’t know man.

As you probably know, I’m not a Justin Bieber fan. His music isn’t exactly what gets me going you know. But I came across a mash-up of his song “Baby” and SlipKnot’s “Psychosocial”, made many years ago obviously, but still. And I’m not sure if I’m gonna laugh or cry at the fact that I like. Like,  A LOT. The music of Justin Bieber mashed with the singing and lyrics of SlipKnot. Not only is it pretty damn great, it also fits amazingly. It’s almost like they had it planned. I understand it’s been edited to fit, but still. IT FITS.

The next one is a mash-up Thomas linked me, which is a mash-up with one of my long-time favorite songs “All About Us” by t.A.t.U and Rammsteins “Wo Bist Du?”. Again, it’s an amazingly composed mash up. It just, again, fits so perfectly. It’s basically like someone took the best of two worlds and mashed it together. God, I can’t believe it. This needs to happen more often, I’m telling you.
