Eurovision Song Contest Semifinal 1

Posted in Uncategorized on May 19, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Okay so basically, the first semifinal just got wrapped up like a bit over an hour ago and the… results are surprising, to say the least.

First of all…

  • Albania
  • Armenia
  • Russia
  • Romania
  • Hungary
  • Greece
  • Estonia
  • Georgia
  • Serbia
  • Belgium

While I found it… surprising (not) to see all these Eastern countries go through, what screwed me over the most was Belgium. Like, I rarely hate on Eurovision Songs, but seriously, I can’t stand this one. And to see them win, over DENMARK AND FINLAND WHO HAD REALLY GOOD SONGS, made me fucking boil.

My personal favorite from this round was Moldova though. As most of you know, Moldova is my baby, and regardless of song, I always root for them, but this time around I really DID Like their song and I had hoped for them to qualify, but of course not. Sad indeed.

Let’s see what Thursday brings us.

Soil Of The Corpse

Posted in Uncategorized on May 18, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Started off my day with some re-decorations of my room. Seriously, when I get into something, I really GET INTO IT. Like, I can’t freaking stop. Not even if my life depended on it.

Later I met up with my classmate and dear friend Anna, and we spent a good almost five hours walking around all over the place here at home talking about everything. About music, work, studiotime, school, future plans, further educations, life, concerts… it’s good to meet up with a fellow peer of yours who’s been at the same where you are. She’s technically in the music producers class, but still. It was amazing catching up, even though the weather is fucking freezing.

With all that being said, I’m gonna make myself a cup of tea and then read a book, for the first time in forever.

Welcome

Been a calm day. Spent most of re-arranging things in my room, such as getting rid of a scanner that’s been underneath my computer desk for about 12 years or so. I’m not even sure it works, which is why I put it away. By taking it away I could instead store some of my magazine there, which allowed room to store even more magazine and folder underneath the computer desk, WHICH, created one whole shelf that’s completely empty, and a place to put away some Disney movies, making another shelf empty.

Wow, quite productive. And it’s interesting to see, how small changes can become so big. I’m not even sure anymore what to do with all this space. I guess it will all be filled up once I properly start cleaning this room. But on a side note, I have at least found out where the heck I can store CD’s once the Blue Shelf becomes full, and that’s always a start, right? Because it will be. Very.. Very… Soon.

You know what else is very soon?

Sweden Rock.

Hell yeah baby.

I Don’t Love You Too

Posted in Uncategorized on May 16, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, for the first time since the tour I actually took myself the time to “unpack” all the merchandise I bought during the last tour. Obviously, they were unpacked from the suitcase, but I had put them in another bag, mostly because I didn’t know what to do with it all. And oh my god.

DSC01758

So what is it even we see here. Two “magazines” -> Studiodiary for To Beast, and illustrated lyrics for Scare Force One. Pristmatic tour programme. A Lordi poster where I accidently excluded OX… Katy Perry pins, glasses, Tshirt…. And shirts with The Lounge Kittens, two Hollywood Groupies tees, two Lordi (House of Ghost + Tour shirt) one Dirty Passion and Amaranthe tourshirt.

And after I took this shot, I realized I left out all the CD’s I got – Hollywood Groupies’, Dirty Passion’s, Kittens’, Engel’s…. It’s fun… No it’s not. It’s not fun at all to think about how much money you spend on these kind of things, and despite you being aware of this… you still do it!

Oh, what don’t we do for our bands…

Did you Miss me?

Posted in Uncategorized on May 15, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

This day has gone so fucking well it isn’t even fun. Met up with Anna earlier today after so many months apart, and it was a rather inspiring meeting. We walked around downtown and talked and planned and even got some things in mind.

After this I’ve done nothing but spending the day at home, occasionally cleaning, doing laundry, doing some writing and listened to a LOT of music. Been sitting outside in the sun a lot. Ahhh, I love the summerweather.

Seriously, this day has gone SO SMOOTHLY, that I’m sure something REALLY bad will happen at work tonight. I guess we will see.

But for now: Lordi – Monsterman on the television!

Why Can’t This Be Love?

Posted in Music on May 14, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

So basically, I stumbled across a video of Erik Grönwall performing this song from Swedish Idol, which goes many many years back actually.

And, naturally, this reminded me of the original version of the song. Which so happens to be one of my absolute favorites, like, ever.

I guess most of you knows, but for those of you who do – “Why Can’t This Be Love” is originally made by Van Halen, released on their “5150” album back in 1986. Really, a LOT of good albums were released in ’86 and ’88… anyway.

My first memory with this song dates back to 2010, and Stockholm Rock Out. I remember it all so clearly – it was before Pretty Boy Floyd was about to go on stage that it was played on the speakers. And it was instant love for me. What I like most is the chorus. How do I even put this into words? The melodyline is just so sweet that you just…can’t not like it. A lot of you may not like it, but I can’t stop. Can’t stop listening to this song. And the moment when it was played… it was the perfect moment. Inside a venue with people exactly like you, singing to the very same song… I didn’t know the lyrics at that point of course but you know…

This has become one of my absolute favorite songs. I can’t even begin to describe to you guys.

I- Best Bassist of a band in your opinion

Posted in A-Z Music, Music, Uncategorized on May 13, 2015 by Sara Hammerzmith

Bassplayers… There is nothing I am as lost about as when it comes to bassplayers. Not becasue I don’t like them, but because the whole world is so unfamiliar to me. But there is one bassplayer, one that has always been close to my heart, and he has been ever since I first became a fan of this band. Do I even need to introduce him?

No copyright stamp, because I fucking trust you guys. Alright, so, this man doesn’t need an introduction – you all should be more than familiar with him by now.

Like I said, being someone who’s fairly unfamiliar with anything bass, I cannot judge his skills. But seriously – raise your hands – how many of you can honestly say you don’t fucking get into when you hear “Bite it Like a Bulldog”? “Where’s the Dragon?” ? The list can be made long.

But of course, being my favorite goes beyond that. It isn’t only what he do on stage, but also what he has done for us, to us, with us, off-stage.

Like, in 2006, when I was so scared to walk to them I almost walked right into, hadn’t Kita stopped me. And how I slowly raised my eyes and eventually met his intense, green eyes looking down on me. Seriously, hadn’t Kita been there to hold me I would have passed out, out of fear.

Or fast forwarding to Italy 2013, when I was going to hug him and I couldn’t reach because he was too tall, and he started laughing at me and teased me for being short (I’m totally sure you are not as freaking tall without your boots, you sonofaaaaa).

Again, the list can be made long. But it goes to a whole new, personal level, as to why he’s my favorite, and why he’s one of my heroes.

Always and forever.

Don’t Say Goodbye

Yesterday I got two awesome albums, and what do I find in my mailbox as of today?

A PACKET FROM CDON, HEAVEN ON EARTH.

What did this little green package contain then, you may ask?

DSC01730

Toto‘s “IV“. Finally. I’ve waited a bit for this, and almost freaked out when I saw it was a “made to order” album and not actually in stock. As you probably know, this is the album containing hits like “Africa” and “Rosanna”. I put this one on so late that I haven’t been able so far to actually listen through it to figure out what songs I like the most, but I must admit it got very atmospheric hearing “Africa” beat through the speakers here at home in the middle of the night.

I love getting new music. And if you haven’t noticed, I added my pop.nu feed to the blog, right under the picture and pages links. There you can see the five most recen CD’s added to my collection! Handy huh?

Waiting For Your Love

Today is a happy day people! Not one, but TWO packages landed in my mailbox today! What could it, what could it be… hey, could it possibly be my Amazon orders?!

Hell yeah it was!

DSC01732

Ordered these two goodies off Amazon, as it seemed to be impossible to get them elsewhere. First of all, it’s Butcher Babies‘ first EP “Uncovered“. Five song EP that amongst other songs has their cover of “They’re Coming To Take Me Away” on it. Five songs is in my opinions way to short, and I admit it, I put the EP on repeat a few times after I got it! It’s just so fucking good. BUTCHER BABIES is just so fucking good. I wish Graspop would come sooner.

The other album is Olly Murs‘ selftitled debut album. This one has had me in a pickles for a couple of years, seeing I couldn’t get it anywhere in Sweden so eBay or Amazon it was. And I actually ordered this about two years back, but it got lost in the mail. Amazingly enough, it took me all up to now to get a new one. At last at last! This is the album that includes “Please Don’t Let Me Go” and “Thinking of Me”, if you all remember that. I must admit, these are awesome, but my personal favorites on this album will most likely always be “Don’t Say Goodbye” and “A Million More Years”. I got quite the “Hand on Heart” feeling from them, and as you know.. “Hand on Heart” is just simply the best Olly Murs song.

So yeah.

You could say my day was pretty great, huh?

Hey Kwanongoma

Before I left Örebro for this time yesterday, I met up with an old co worker of mine. It’s been some time since I’ve seen her, so it was nice to see her again and catch up with everything.

Once I got home, a lot of things happened. First of all, I managed to try on my new clothes from Nelly. Perfect fit!

And second of all…

I GOT MY GRASPOP TICKET! So things are actually starting to happen now! I’m finally getting shit together for this summer. Now I only need to book for Marilyn Manson, Ace Frehley and Billy Idol, and JUNE WILL BE SET! It’s so fucking awesome, I can’t even tell you. And soon enough we will start setting for July and August as well.

TICKETSd

Of course, my wallet bleeds. Like a lot. But what can you do? MUSIC IS LIFE. This summer is going to be great.

BY THE WAY! THIS IS MY 1000th POST ON THIS BLOG! YAY ME!
