Eurovision Song Contest Semifinal 2

Posted in Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Uncategorized on May 17, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

SHIT. The internet at the hotel broke down! So I couldn’t blog from there… So yeah, here comes the sum up from the Semifinal no 2,and I’ll take the finals tomorrow!

Ok. We were actually supposed to go to a Eurovision dinner with the Swedish Delegation this evening, however, I managed to trip on my already damaged foot and injuried it even worser than it was from the beginning so it was bye bye to that… Good thing we managed to get to the arena!

You know, the first reason I signed up for the tickets for Eurovision, was because I was sooo sure Stala&SO. would win the finnish selection (Paradise Oskar did) and HELL NO that I’d miss my dear Sampsa(Kita) in Eurovision! But yes… he lost. Pretty hard. So I was like NOOOOO, I don’t wanna go : (…. Until I heard the small words: Zdob Si Zdub is in for Moldova.

I was like, Wait what. Zdob si Zdub… _THE_ ZDOB SI ZDUB?! THAT I HAVE LOVED AND ADORED FOR _SIX_ YEARS?!??!?! Dear god. That was even better news than if Sampsa would have been in! So I was really excited for this semifinal. My darlings in Zdub, and also Sweden! And not to forget – my babygirls darlings Jedward from Ireland. I was pretty certain they’d get through, but I was very unsure about both Zdub’s and Saade.

Either way, haha, now I’m just rambling away! We got to the arena and took us the time to purchase official scarves (MOLDOVA!) and pins and programme before we went inside and looked up our section. For todays event we were seated in section E row 4. Still fucking close! A friend of mine from the OGAE came and said hi and we had a short chat before it all began.

Well… The first entries passed and the only one I found interesting was Ukraine, but it was neither the singer or the song that made me interested, but the girl who drew in sand! That was pretty amazingly done. After Ukraine it was time for my darlings, and I must say I was quite nervous and excited about it.

Eurovision may just be Eurovision, and it may just be “one” song, but… it’s enough for me. They mainly play around Moldova / Romania / Russia and now have a few gigs in Germany, but that’s as close as they come. So yeah, it migh just be ONE song, but for me its more than anything. It’s Zdob Si Zdub. My very very first favourite band. Shit. And the fact that the song was beyond amazing (and a few inches better than ‘Boonika Bate Doba’ 2005) doesn’t make it any worse, does it?

After Moldova, it was time for Sweden. This was also really exciting – In the Swedish selection finals, The Moniker with ‘Oh My God’ was my personal fave, however I wished sincerely for that Eric Saade or Danny Saudeco would win if  The Moniker didn’t. I was quite excited to see how it was live and how it works in the arena, and I can pretty confidentelly say… it was the big arena favourite.

I feel sorry for Cyprus who had to enter the stage after Eric Saade, especially since they, Sorry Nik, and in my opinion, had a pretty boring song and routine. The next song to genuinely catch my attention was Israel’s Dana International and her ‘Ding Dong’ – both because the song is pretty GOOD, and, hello, it’s Dana International! Was really nice to see her live! (as live as Eurovision can get that is)

Estonia was also quite a favourite for me, Getter Jaani ‘Rockefeller Street’ and… I said it so many times by now, these songs are so much more amazing in the arena than on screen! Denmark was also pretty appriciated and at last the twins from Ireland conquered the stage. They are so adorable!

So yeah.. then it was time for result.

I was so certain Ireland and Israel would make it at least. I was very worried about Zdub’s and Saade…So guess how relieving it was when Moldova was announced! I pretty much sank into a bag of potatoes when I saw it. It ment I got to see my darlings just one more time. Awesome.

The countried kept coming. Like Ireland, like I predicted.

I got pretty worried when it was only one country left. Nor Israel or Sweden had gotten through, and I already started to get bitter and sink down to the floor with the words “Sweden wont get through, sweden wont get through” and even started to get teary eyed when I looked up and saw the blue with the yellow cross…

I can’t describe for you guys, how relieving THAT was. The entire delegation snapped, and I bet we were the biggest and loudest delegation there.

Sweden, Moldova AND Ireland through. I was well satisfied.

Eurovision Song Contest Semifinal 1

Posted in Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Uncategorized on May 12, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

Mkay, this happened a few days ago but still. The very first semifinal of ESC! Just as last year, I’m attending the whole shit.

We can begin with that we had a pretty decent travel here, but I must say, after being on TWO FLIGHTS.. I felt molested! It was like I had been to a half-rough concert! What is that?! Ugh. I’m not really looking THAT much forward to that on Sunday! Either way, we finally got down to Köln (where I happened to run into Zdob si Zdub the first thing that happened!!! How awesome is that?) to check in the hotel, get ready and then pretty much RUSH to the arena to pick up our tickets, since they are provided by OGAE.

I’m always pretty amazed over how many people there is coming to this you know. It’s far more people than on a concert, obviously, and I’m also amazed over how many nations there are. We even ran into some Australians, and that is just insane! The queueing system kinda sucked, not as hard as Dark Decadence of course, NOTHING can suck as hard as that, but it could’ve been organized a bit better.

Once inside we just looked around for I don’t know how long until I located…. CANDY!!!!!! Yeah. First time I bought candy for over 100 SEK! After that we went into the arena, located the section and was gonna find our row… which… turned out… TO BE FRONT ROW!!!!!!! FUCKING FRONT ROW!!!!!! That is hilarious!

So yeah… That’s pretty what’s there to say about that! Right on time, OBVIOUSLY, since it’s live, it started and for god know what reason they had today put the hosts on another platform than the regular stage.. And they didn’t show them on the big screens.. So it was like sitting there, watching an empty stage, and just listen to the host. After that… the entries began!

I’m gonna be straight honest with you, I hadn’t listened too much more than snippets off the songs. I love ESC more than MGP, yet since last years Eurovision I stopped care a bit about the entries but more about the thing itself. I did however enjoy pretty much the same that I wrote in the entry below, but I think I fell abit more in love with Hungary, Georgia, Armenia and even Norway(!!) after seeing it live.  Kinda fun – We talked a little about Sampsa, you know, Stala&SO. and how badly we wanted them to be there.. And just when we discussed that, the host said “In 2006 LORDI won with HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH!!!”…  HAHAHA, talking about timing or what?!?! I still would have wanted Sampsa to be there instead of Paradise Oskar.

The result of the voting is somewhat surprising. I don’t, in any kind of way, and no offence to Finland – understand, how FINLAND could get through, and NOT Norway? Same with Iceland – but I guess the heartbreaking story behind the entry somewhat helps them a bit. And Serbia, what was that…? Either way, I’m glad Hungary and Georgia got through.

Myes… That is pretty much it. Tonight it’s the second semifinal, and I really hope Sweden and Ireland gets through.. I met a few irish people in a store yesterday… I guess we will see what happens!

Stay tuned!

Germany

Posted in Uncategorized on May 9, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

Well… yes! In just like what, one and a half hour we’re leaving for Germany and Köln + Düsseldorf. If you haven’t figured so far, we are just as last year gonna attend Eurovision Song Contest.

Like I said last year, ESC is not so much about which song is the best and who should win, but more about a great party were its just peace for one week. Might not seem like that for you guys who follow it from the screen, but us who are there live can see it.

Nevertheless, I did pretty fast check out all the songs and the countries I like is Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark (yes, I know its ridiculously similar to ‘Sing For Me’ with Andreas Johnson, that’s why it’s so good) Estonia, Spain, Georgia, Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Moldova, Malta, Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Russia & Slovenia. Quite a few.

The one I’m gonna raise my flag for this year though will be Moldova. I made a pact with myself and Moldova six years ago, when Zdob si Zdub last were in the contest, that I’d forever vote for them, since I didn’t do it then. And well yes, the second reason is that Zdob si Zdub ALONE is one of my favourite groups. You probably didn’t know that (but if you have my MSN you sure as hell know that!) So yes. Moldova it is!

The Big Bang Theory began on TV again so I guess I should watch it and as well Cleveland show that comes after. And after that? GERMANY!

Have a good one!

Yeah.. about that. Sweden is dun goofed!! :”D

Dark Decadence

Posted in Concerts, Uncategorized on May 8, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

Oh my gaylord, it’s been a long while since it actually happened but oh well. Let me tell you about the weekend. It was really one of the best weekends ever, and in a real long time. Started out already on Friday when me and Sofia hit Stockholm pretty early to work it on the shoppingstreets. I’d like to say we did pretty well. We always do. Some new make up, patches, bags – you name it. Dinner was eaten at Tacobar. We love the place. ❤

During Saturday we got some shopping done as well, I really remember I got a cardigan to bring to the show just-in-case. Fun thing – when we walked down the street from Shock, we saw a guy we thought looked cool and we kept staring at him (we had just been whining over the fact there were NO rockers in town) and as we got closer to him we just kept staring… only to realize it was our dear friend Jesper! Now THAT was random.  We hit the hotel again after some last minute shopping to get ready for the gig and after that get going. Thanks to Angie, we found the trailway and also managed to get to Cirkus, where she and Joiz was kind enough to wait for us!  We hit the arena and hooked up with Mik and her boyfriend. Went inside to hook up with some of Sofias friends.. AND running into Jesper again! Nice nice.

Ok, so they were supposed to let us in right, so they opened the doors and we kinda experienced the Lordi 2006 all over (when they open the other doors!) Just to let us into… another hallway. We were like W.T.F. At this moment babygirl Sara joined us too. Talking about collecting a gang, huh? Either way. At first they said we were gonna sit down (yeah, they forced to actually SIT DOWN!) for 45 minutes, but already after what, like six minutes they opened the doors… TO LET US IN TO YET ANOTHER HALLWAY! I mean, what in the name of god?! Why didn’t they just let us in the second hallway right away?! We stood there for about 20 minutes or something before they ACTUALLY opened the doors to the arena…. So finally we got in! As usual, Martin Sweets side the whole gang of us.

I had noticed during the day that there were VERY few The 69 Eyes fans there. It’s a shame – they are like one of the greatest. And sadly (SORRY) they were the ones to start first today – pretty much only because Stockholm is Crashdiets town so they figured Crashdiet would get the longer set (and I wonder, was it really that much longer?!)

I must say though – for having sucha boring and dead audience that the 69 had, they still delivered ridiculously good. Jyrki was on fire flirting with the audience and the hyperrabbit Jussi we shouldn’t even talk about. I enjoyed it all so bad. I find it really sad they played sucha short set that they did, but I guess there is really nothing to do about it, is it? The setlist was however: Devils / Never Say Die / Perfect Skin / Sister Of Charity / Dead Girls Are Easy / Brandon Lee / Lost Boys.

So the Helsinki Vampires were chased off stage to get it ready for Crashdiet and… I mean, maybe it is me who have seen Crashdiet both way too much on this tour, and way too much in a short time – but the set is getting kinda old. Just as usual, they opened with “Down With The Dust” and the set was pretty much the same as it always has been, ‘cept from no “Save Her” (Why? Why on earth would you take THAT ONE away?!?!). What does, despite this, make the concert special and great – is the energy and the spirit the boys have. I can, in all honesty, say I’ve never ever seen them this fired up, this happy. I had never, until this day, seen Simon smile in real life, but today it seemed like he couldn’t stop. I don’t know whats the reason behind this – if it was because they were  home, because it’s the end of a decadent tour or all together, I don’t care. I was thrilled to see them so happy.  But I do wonder – was this really THAT much longer than the previous tour?
Setlist: Down With The Dust / So Alive / Riot In Everyone / Native Nature / Queen Obscene / Rebel / Beautiful Pain / Breakin The Chainz / Generation Wild.

Ok. Time to get ready for the nights headliner which was Hardcore Superstar – I’m gonna be honest with you, until this day I haven’t really cared much for them. I had seen them live a couple of times and I have one record, but they never stuck you know? Yeah – until this concert. Something about this concert just made them stuck. If it is because they are the greatest live band in Sweden, the material of Split Your Lip or just me getting used to them, I don’t know, but I can be proud to say that they are now stuck for me and I can’t wait to see them again.

So yeah… That pretty much covers the show. Afterwards we hooked up with the people again deciding what we would do for the night (= going back to the hotel) and saying good bye to all the awesome people. But glamourous as we are, me and Sofia took a cab. And in all honesty… I’m pretty happy we did! It was a bit creepy outside for GOD knows what reason. We pretty much crashed directly when we got back.

Sunday.. yeah well. WE DONT CELEBRATE SUNDAYS! Like Hardcore Superstar said. This was the last day, so we took a nice breakfast, went to the cinemas to see “Hop”. I adore the movie, it was awesome and the animals in it… So pretty.

One more thing… Swebus kinda sucks. We were waiting for the bus for like 30 minutes and we were kinda broken up about it… But we were still glad we would spend around what, three more hours together. But of course, OF COURSE, the manager says “Everyone going to Örebro in this bus please!”.. Meaning Sofia had to go with another bus. Were we pissed? Yeah you bet. Did it get worse? Oh yeah. Turns out my bus DID stop in Örebro ANYWAY!!!! WHAT THE!!! AHHHH WHYY WHYYY…. Ok Rage time is over.

Well yes… That pretty much covers the weekend. I can’t wait to ALMOST do it all over again at Cinderella.. Why is it so far away?

Kesha, I fucking love her. Her style.

It’s been a week since Dark Decadence, and as usual I haven’t pulled myself together to write anything yet… But it shall come soon enough. I do miss everybody I met there and I hate that these things ends so quickly. But today we got the tickets for Cinderella at least, so that’s a start! We will also see Lordi live in November. I love my life.

Claudia de la Creme, The Ark & Dark Decadence

Posted in Uncategorized on April 14, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

Yeah, no real headline. Just because I wanted to discuss somethings badly.

For the first, I feel the need to tell you how passionate I am about the mentalist Claudia de la Creme. She’s the one in Phenomenom who always perform dangerous routines to play with death, and in my eyes, that IS cooler than mindreading, or maybe I’m just really stuck on her. She became my favourite pretty instantly when I saw her the first time. Last week she performed the famous knife routine and even if she so knew where the knives was, she could still have got badly injuried. Good thing Uri Geller has a good taste in real mentalists, and saved her.

And Ok, The Ark. We got to hear today that the final gig EVER will be at the amusmentpark Gröna Lund in Stockholm. It’s… a nice fuck off to their closest fans. Sure – Grönan is fine as a concert place, not the ideal one, but FINE. BUT, I don’t think you should have the very final gig there really, since a lot of their hardcore fans wants to say good bye, but the risk with having it at a place like Grönan is for people with not a that big interest showing up – just because – and fills the places so the hardcores doesn’t get in. I guess we all remember Hoffmaestro? When not even the ones with tickets got in? I think they should have the concert in a “closed” arena, like, where you have to buy tickets. So the REAL fans get the goodbye they deserve.

And finally… Dark Decadence. It’s on Saturday and I’ve just done my hair and eyebrows. Going to sleep any minute now since I have to get up EXTRA early tomorrow due to my haircircumstances! But I’ll have a killer day tomorrow in Stockholm with Sofia, that much I know.

See you on Sunday!

SMS

Posted in Uncategorized on April 13, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

Going through an old “Absolut Kidz” CD and the old girlgroup E.M.M.A’s hitsingle SMS is currently playing… It’s interesting you know, these songs used to be my fave songs, I still know the lyrics to them all but some of them lost its glory with the years really… like this one.

The day has been so unproductive but yet productive. I packed a bit more, and we had some radical changes of plans too… Turns out “Hop” airs at last at 14.50, and thats A BIT early for us to go to the cinemas since we wanna go shopping.. So we will take that one done on Sunday since we have to leave the hotel pretty early. But still, it will be a killer fucking weekend. And now we got something to do on Sunday too!

I cleaned the livingroom today. I just got some kind of instinct. No, it’s still messy. But I cleared some stuff up, and I also managed to get two trashbags. That’s pretty good, isn’t it? I also gathered ALL my “finnish” stuff in one pile… For some odd reason I feel a need to keep them in a pile next to my computer instead of sorting in the CD’s where they should be. But then again, I have CD’s all over the fucking place. AND I found my wallet.

Random enough yet? Okay, I’ve taken enough of your time with my bullshit.

Squeeze It Dry

Tigertailz, off the album “Bezerk”. Saw them at Stockholm Rock Out earlier this year and also got to meet them. Real nice guys, and I love this band. This album is also one of these albums where EVERY song rocks. Tigertailz is the perfect band.

Talking about the perfect bands leads me to the perfect concert, which is Dark Decadence. Okay – the perfect concert would be Lordi together with Stala&SO. and Crashdiet, but that’s not gonna happen (yeah I know Crash and Lordi play together this summer and I wanna go there real bad too) since Stala&SO. and Lordi doesn’t really clash. So a mixture of the two finest rock bands from Sweden and the finest gothic angels from Finland. Today its three days until we leave, and I can barely wait anymore. I started to pack today, like, the clothes. I have to figure out how to fit everything in my small bag.

Me and Sofia have also reached the conclusion how miserable we both will be after this weekend is over. It always comes, the after-concert depression. Good thing that we have tons more booked in. Cinderella, Alice Cooper and Skogsröjjet. Feels pretty good that Alice Cooper is coming really, it’s a tradition to see him every year and I started to fear I’d have to go to Getaway Rock Festival to see, and I didn’t really see that one as an opportunity.

These days has past pretty slow really. Today I at least had a killer, but fun, day at school. We had to solve a surviving problem and I can just said we had quite a blast while doing it.

Ok, considering I really don’t have anything to write about, I shall just quit. Hey Hey Klabautermann!

The 69 Eyes, pretty fitting considering the fact Dark Decadence is on Saturday! I just love this album though, “Angels”. Pretty much EVERY song rock.

YES. It’s only 5 days left to Dark Decadence, and 4 days left ’til me and Sofia leave our destinations for Stockholm to make it unsafe. Plans for the day is to shop and have one helluva dinner and wrap it up with cinema and the new movie “Hop”.

Its been pretty calm around here apart from when I almost died from Stalas announcement. During saturday Hanna and I spent our day at the animal expo as I told you, however it was a bit disappointing. Sure, I never say no to look at pretty animals, but it was so small! We were done with it in like 10 minutes, when usually it’s so big you barely get to see it all. I guess it has to do with the ice-hockey finals that were held in the arena next doors, also the arena that the animal expo USUALLY are at.

Sunday’s been nice and calm to, nothing much to tell about that and nor about Monday. It’s hilarious though – Last week couldn’t seem to pass slower and we were just waiting for the days to go by so we could get to Dark Decadence, but now, as it’s really closing in I’m starting to get stressed out. I wonder why. Maybe, just maybe, I should go pack? Or do as I always do – pack right before I leave. At least I started to organize some shit.

It’s gonna be nice though. It’s gonna be nice to meet some friends I haven’t seen for a while and we are gonna have the time of our lives. Tomorrows a killer day in school too, looking forward AFTER ALL. It’s getting old to walk the time off in the forests, Really.

Life’s Too Hard

Posted in Finland, Uncategorized on April 9, 2011 by Sara Hammerzmith

A few days ago Stala asked us what songs we wanted on the EP.
I told him I wanted “Lifes Too Hard.”

Today:

Yes. I am Hammerzmith on Twitter. Yes, I get Lifes Too Hard on the next EP.

So fucking happy I could die. I love you to pieces, Stala.
