Wreck-It Ralph, To Beast or Not To Beast, and what not…

Posted in CDs, Uncategorized on February 10, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

Hello, hello, hello.

Last Friday must have been one of the best days ever. First off, I started my day with some good news regarding a certain event, and got some sweet pressmaterial while having a delicious breakfast after a fantastic morning shower. Afterwards, my mum and I went shopping for the weekend, stuff like kneepads and such. Boda Borg COULD be considered an extremesport, I guess.

—- SPOILERS FROM WRECK IT RALPH  WILL APPEAR BENEATH—-

Later one I headed downtown to meet up with Emelie and Michelle for some “fancy” lunch (I guess?) at Subway before we hit the premiere of Wreck-it Ralph. Despite me being a bit unsure about the movie at first, I liked it. A lot. I liked it very much, and I just wanted to punch Ralph when he wrecked Vanellope’s go-cart. And I gotta use Felix’s pickup line on someone at some time. Seriously. At our way home from the movies I also received some pretty fantastic news. Not gonna share’em here though.

—-SPOILERS FROM TO BEAST OR NOT TO BEAST WILL APPEAR BENEATH—-

After dropping Emelie off later we went home, ordered pizza and got to our “Awca-ritual”. Yes, that’s right. The first listen to “To Beast or Not To Beast”, Lordi’s new album for the people who doesn’t know. We even set the mood with a lot of candles, a sacrificial hamster and pizza. Everything was just perfect.

And so was the album. Or perfect may be a bit strong… but it was good. Really good. It’s like The Arockalypse and Deadache had a child, and this is it. I can’t really pick a favorite song, but it’s somewhere between “Candy for the Cannibal”, “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, “Schizo Doll” and “Horrifiction”. They are all kinda Deadache-ish, perhaps with a little touch of Babez, but mainly Deadache. I’m still shocked though from hearing Mr Lordi curse through an entire chorus. That was unexpected, especially as we can recall him saying at one point he wouldn’t do it, because it’s the easy way out.

But yes, like I said, it’s hard as hell to choose ONE favorite, it’s easier to say that the songs I liked the least on the album is like, “Happy New Fear”, “The Riff” and “I’m The Best“, although, I wouldn’t say they are bad or anything. The mixing is a lot better on this album than it was on Babez, and the overall composing is just perfect. The only thing I miss, is Kita’s backingvocals. It feels a bit empty without his sweet and soft voice screaming in the background, but it also kinda adds to it that the backings are all dark.

But I liked it. No, loved it. I loved it. This is THE era of Lordi, and I’m glad I’ll be seeing as many gigs as I am with them this era.

I even love the “Dinner is Served!” in the beginning of “We’re Not Bad For The Kids (We’re Worse)“. And of course the band would be screaming, they were kept waiting three years for dinner. Damn it, Wagener! They may be monsters, but they get hungry too.

———— SPOILER OVER———–

But okay. Almost 4 am in the morning. Bed is calling. My body’s aching from Boda Borg, but I figured I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow.

————– SPOILERALERT——————————

I’m not blogging from the normal computer, so I don’t have my awesome Clopin logo, but I hope this one works. I’ll be writing a little about Lordi’s upcoming album “To Beast or Not To Beast”, or as I call it, Album Without a Cool Acronym beneath, and if you don’t want any spoilers, I strongly suggest you stop read about now.

————SPOILERALERT———————————–

So tomorrow’s gonna be the day when I’ll finally, at last, together with my platypus, sit down and listen to Lordi’s new album. It’s been in my possession since a few weeks back, but I figured it was a bit too early to review it, so I figured I’d wait, especially since I could do a little ritual with my platypus while at it.

But you know, we aren’t dun goofed. There are some stuff we’ve heard already, like the beginning of the first song, whose name I believe is “We’re Not Bad For The Kids (We’re Worse)”. I tell you. When I heard that damn intro, I thought I had gotten the wrong album. I mean, I was basically listening to a death metal album you know? But as the song continued a little, I recognized the voice of my beloved monster, and you know… Shit just got real, just saying.

Yesterday I was burning the songs onto a CD, since I prefer to listen to them through my stereo rather than through the computer, this leading to me hearing the intro to all the songs. After a while I reached the song “Sincerely With Love”, which had a nice intro-beat  I was banging my head a little to the rhythm, it’s a pretty common rhythm really, so yeah. You know. And then all of a sudden, I hear Mr Lordi’s voice crack through going

“Fuck you asshole, fuck you asshole”.

I’m not even in the slightest lying or trying to be funny when I say that I sat there with my mouth wide open, breathing heavily, almost panting, crying and in between letting small psychotic laughs escape my lips. I guess this is what it is like being in shock. But yes, that’s my reaction. I can’t ever recall ever hearing this man swear ever before, let alone in a song.

Well. One thing’s for sure. This album will be one of a kind, and upside down, and what not. I guess I’ll see if I’ll live after tomorrow.

First Wreck-It Ralph at the movies, and then this. Fuck me sideways.

Finally, after a lot of fucking struggle, I’m at last done with this weeks school-assignment.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but for some reason, if I don’t find the school-assignment fun enough I just can’t do it. I try, I try so hard, but I just can’t come through with it. Four hours after deadline today, that’s when I turned it in. At last. And that is solely because my favorite fanfic has been updated after two weeks of waiting, and I said to myself that I CAN NOT read it until I’m done with it.

And now I am, so I’m heading over to Fanficition.net now to read “Empty Apartment”, as it is called.

This weekend Emelie and I are headed to the youthleaders course again, will be… interesting to say the least. We’ll see if we survive, haha.

But right. Crisps, coke, and fanfic. That’s what I was gonna do.

Good night!

Finally, unhappily, married!

Posted in The Sims, Uncategorized on February 1, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, for the first time ever, I’ve hosted a The Sims 3 wedding, between Mikayla Makoola and Wei Keane (or something like that).

Wei has cheated on Mikayla about three times before this marriage could finally go through, but because of my laziness, she has to put up with this son of a llama.

Anyway, Congratulations Mikayla and Wen!

I’ll introduce you further to the Makoola’s tomorrow, I need to get some sleep now.

Teenage Dream

Fittingly enough I have to do a Katy Perry title today.

Today was a good day. Not only because I’m starting to be done with my music business course, but also because this arrived in the mail today:

cecevadgördu 021

Woho! Crashdiet’s new record and the brand new The Sims game.

The record was fine, I won’t say too much about it before I know if I’m gonna review it or not, and the game I haven’t tried out yet, but I will in a few days. A Few days? Why? Because, a few days ago, I got this from my mother as a late Christmas gift:

cecevadgördu 028

It’s kinda shameful to admit, but even though how much I love The Sims, as I’ve told you so many time, I’m really bad at keeping up with the releases, both due to financial problems (meaning, my money goes to the trips instead) and also because they release so many on so short time that I barely keep up with it anymore. But now I’ve started to.

So tonight, I’m gonna try out Katy Perry Sweet Treats. Why I haven’t done it earlier? Because I used is a reward. If I did some schoolwork, I could play it. If not, then no playing. Else it would be no work and all fun. And it doesn’t really work like that today, does it? And of course, tomorrow I’ll tell you ALL about what I thought about it!

Anyway, Katy Perry’s calling for me! LATERS.

Plans, plans,plans…

Posted in Uncategorized on January 23, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

That’s pretty much all we are doing nowadays, on the same time as I try to study. I’m not sure if I’m completly managing both.

We’ve finally decided the fate of the Crashdiet date – we are most likely gonna do that one without any sort of accomodation. After all, it’s not like we haven’t done it before. As a matter of fact, it will be the third country for me to have done it in. Will be rather exciting, I must say! The bus leaves relatively early on Sunday, and I guess the show won’t be over ’til 1-2 maybe anyway, so I think we’ll do just fine.

Italy and Lordi… well that one is starting to come together, piece by piece. We’ve decided what dates to do down there, and we’ve decided one hotel as well. Our next step will be to decide on the next hotels, checking up on trains before booking, and then book the hotels, planes, and concerttickets. But at least we’re finally getting this shit put together you know.

Bon Jovi is also somewhat set. We found out Sabaton is gonna play on Gröna Lund two days ahead of Bon Jovi, so instead of staying the whole weekend in Stockholm, we’ll go ahead instead and then go back home right after the show.

The festivals that are so far carved in stone this summer is Skogsröjet and Bang Your Head. We’re considering a few more, but for now, these are the one’s in “progress”. Skogsröjet always has awesome line-ups, this year holding bands as Twisted Sister and Lita Ford amongst other. Bang Your Head we were only originally doing for Lordi, but to my happiness, I noticed both H.E.A.T and Crazy Lixx are playing as well. Just made the festival so much more worth it!

I guess this is pretty much how our plans looks right now, and where in the progress they are. As you know, we are gonna try make this summer the best ever, so we have  A LOT of other plans for the summer, but that’ll be another story.

But yes. It’s 2 am and I have school tomorrow. So yeah, see yah!

I Believe We Can

Posted in Uncategorized on January 22, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

Yeah, I probably used that title quite a lot lately, but Phineas&Ferb’s basically all that’s on my mind lately. That and Creepypastain’ Gravity Falls. Or not really, it’s just Michelle that’s freaked out by it. Grunkle Stan has never been more intriguing!

But you know, while talking about how it’s gonna take years for us to gather the whole season one of Gravity Falls on DVD, I came to think about our upcoming travels, and about the future and about the site I write for. Thing is, as I stated earlier, I got so much new inspiration just because starting a new course, and that doesn’t only count for school, but also my work on the site I write for.

What kind of changes we wanna make, what kind of articles we wanna write… Michelle and I are brainstorming like freaks right now and we’ve come up with some pretty rad ideas. I’ll gather them all and present them to my boss later on with well-planned sketches.

I’m sorry that my blog entries has become so short and boring lately, I really don’t know what to write about. What do you wanna hear about? Seriously I need some advice here. I mean, I care like crazy for the new Grease-episode of Phineas&Ferb, but do you? That’s the question.

We are Golden

Posted in Uncategorized on January 21, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

So, like I said. I’m not good with school, and the ironic thing is that right after I wrote this entry last night, I realized I had an exam in Music due today. Let me tell you this; I have never ever  read a book this fast, or written an exam this fast ever before. But I’m quite pleased with it, and might save the grade for me. Way to go there.

Tomrrow, I’ll begin a new course on my original course in Media and Communication, and this is my final semester. For some reason I’m excited about beginning tomorrow. It’s like it’s a new beginning you know? Like, alright, a new course, now we will set things off from scratch.

And not only with school, but with everything else. I figured I’d “man up” and start to take things more seriously, like, the Italy trip. I mean, instead of just sitting and watching and waiting, I should get to the point and start organize shit. Argo gave me some stuff he’d found, and figured I’d deal with it after school. Things are starting to work out with all the other people we’re going there with, and if it turns out as I hope it does, this is going to be nothing but bloody brilliant.

But yes. It’s schoolday tomorrow, and I’ve completly turned the day, so I figured I have to go to sleep like NOW or else I won’t get to school tomorrow. See you later.

La Isla Bonita

Posted in Uncategorized on January 20, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

I ended up on one of Madonna’s iconic tunes for some reason, in the middle of the night with Phineas&Ferb airing on the TV. And a hamster running in his wheel. Wow.

I’ve just finished writing down what books I need for the Journalists course I’m starting, and will soon enough do the same with the other course I’m starting on Monday.

While looking over my schedule, I realized I got each and every weekend ’til midst March booked up, be it concert or stable work or other things. Freaked me out a little, but I think I’ll manage. The most important thing is that I manage to fix school. In all honesty, I’m not very good with school, or more like, I have a hard time concentrate and get to the point to do anything. No, I don’t have a diagnoses or disorder, I just have troubles concentrate. Whenever I read in the schoolbooks, my mind always wanders off to “better places” I guess, and it’s usually at those points I come up with the best of our adventures.

But it’s not like that helps my case in getting my diploma, is it? Oh well. I closed my mysterybook for today, and will now check up on some courses I got on another university before retiring to bed.

Lil’ Ol’ Me

Posted in Uncategorized on January 18, 2013 by Sara Hammerzmith

So today I heard the first snippet from Lordis upcoming album “To Beast or Not To Beast”, or as I call it, “A.W.C.A” (Album Without a Cool Acronym). And…

Let’s just say it was quite sometime since I last snapped like this. Both me and Michelle listened to it together over Skype, and I pretty much went all “Hey, you ready for something?” and she was like “Yes” and then I played it.

And then we both snapped into clapping and IIIIH-ing like the disturbing fangirls we can be and just… fangirled. Then we started to talk about how much fun we’ll have in April when we see them (reminder to myself: Contact Argo immediately after you’ve written this!) because this era is going to be good, I got that hunch.

They got a new concept, new members, new fantastic costumes… and, looking at the statistics, this era should be good (in my taste that is). I’m so sure Italy is gonna be the biggest of blast, I mean, think about it! Roadtripping in Italy and seeing your favorite band hanging out with your best friends without any worries. Sure, I’m gonna leave in the middle of the time when I’m writing the big essay for my bachelors degree, but for some reason I can’t see myself worrying. Because it will be good.

We’re gonna have so much fun. And considering we might do a small stop in Germany on our way home to attend a certain convent makes it even better. This trip is sure gonna be something special.

Ironically, “Summer Belongs To You” with Phineas&Ferb just came on… of course it would. What other song would ever fit better to this?

And you gotta believe in something
So today I believed in you
And you came through, we made it
I’ve never been so proud
I know at first it seemed implausible
But we accomplished the impossible
Now there’s something that I’ve got to say out loud

Time is what you make of it, so take a chance
Life is full of music so you ought to dance
The world’s a stage and it is time for your debut
Don’t waste a minute sitting on that chair
The world is callin’ to you, just get out there
You can see forever so your dreams are all in view

Summer belongs to you!

The only sad part about this, is that there are plenty of people out there, even one I care very dearly for, that’s too busy bashing the band for what they do that the person is most likely gonna miss out on all this. And that sucks. But then again, what can I do?

Now, I should get to bed. And I must make sure to study and work hard now, to make Italy and this upcoming summer the best ever.
