Nailed By The Hammer of Frankenstein – New with Lordi

Alright folks. Lordi’s new single “Nailed by the Hammer of Frankenstein” is set to be released on September 19th (which will, ON THE DAY, mark 8 years since my first Lordi concert! Perhaps I should give you a throwback entry then?) and already right now you can hear a snippet of the song on iTunes store and this website.

Even though I feel I recognize this song from somewhere, that I’ve heard it before, and as Maddy pointed out, it’s very similar to “We’re not bad for the Kids (We’re Worse)” off their latest album (To Beast or Not To Beast), and I’d like to say that it got a little bit of “I’m the Best” in it as well.

With that said, I must say I really like what I hear. It’s feels like it’s a pretty typical Lordi-kind-of-song and I’m looking forward not only to hear the full song, but also to the album. The album is according to CDON set to be released on October 31, meaning we got A LOT of good things to look forward too!

Any Lordifans reading got an opinion on this?

  1. First off all: Yes, I would love to read a throwback entry about this! đŸ™‚

And second off all: After listening to this short sample I have really high expectations towards SFO. This 1 1/2 minutes got me all excited and hyped. Honestly, I didn’t think that the new album would be me in this state of mind.. But I mean, this really has the potential to be THE Lordi album.
I already thought that TBONTB was a fucking great album, but still I missed a little heavyness in there.
But this new song really gives me the hope that the heavyness, that I was waiting for, is finally there! (And the mixing is already so much more kickass than the previous albums..)

So, I’m just waiting until I get this press mail from my magazine so that I can review this fucker! đŸ˜€

And to be honest, when I heard this today (and saw some other stuff), I cried. I really cried.
Those monsters really never fail to surprise me/make me happy. This is going to be a kickass era!

    • I hope it will be what To Beast wasn’t for me – I always preferred Monsterican Dream and Deadache over BFB, Get Heavy and Arockalypse, and statistics said To Beast was gonna be a TMD, but it wasn’t. This song sounds more BFB meeting To Beast, but I still have my hopes up for it to become TMD 2.0.

The full tracklist of the album do sound promising as hell though, so yeah. Like you say. It has the potential to be THAT Lordi album, if it will be, we will have to wait and see. But I get the feeling Mana and Hella brings some new energy to the table, which is much needed for this band.

I must say, Hellas changes made me a little sad. Now, I already knew back in Savonlinna she’s was gonna go through some changes (you know what I mean) but I was like NOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOO when I heard it. I was so excited to be able to actually cosplay Hella without having to have a wig or do any “extra-vagant” things, but yeah… That’s in the past now, haha! But other than that, this era looks like it will kick ass.

I’m already getting ready for the tour next year.

      • Yes, Mana and Hella are definitely the best thing that could have happened to this band, in many ways!
This current line up is just the best one Lordi ever had and if they don’t come up with a killer album, I don’t know who will.

It’s indeed a little sad.. But I can’t wait to see some nice pictures of this. Maybe it won’t be that “disappointing” in the end. I mean what I saw already looks reeeeeeeeeally promising, costume-wise (especially Mana <3).
But you could still cosplay here? Or at least the alter Hella. That would still look awesome as fuck!

        Same here!!
